The boys will turn 3 on July 2, so we are already planning the party. Partly b/c it's so close to 4th of July and I want to make sure folks save the date. We are doing a super small party this year with only immediate family. Last year we went all out, spent hundreds and it was the hottest day of the year and everyone went home early. This year it is going to be at our house, indoors if too hot and only about 15 ppl. It's going to be a Dinosaur Train party since the boys LOVE that show. Even though it will be small, I can still have fun with the decorations and cake/cupcakes!!!

We did just a family thing last year. This year the kiddo is old enough to really get it so I'm thinking of doing something bigger. Her b'day is almost 2 months after your boys so I've still got time. Any party planning tips?

Hmmm...I'd love to share my running list of fun party ideas if you pm me your email :-) One big tip I have is to start a list (Word doc or something) to catch all of your ideas in the months leading up to the party. I do that and now I have a rather large list of ideas for each area of the party - food, cake, decorations, invitations, gift bags, games, etc. This year we are doing dinosaurs, which the boys love, I recommend picking something that your girl will love and is familiar with. Also pick something that you can easily think of several ideas and won't be too hard to find stuff. I spend some time googling Dinosaur Train Party ideas and got several ideas from there and etsy and found a bunch of neat ideas for cupcakes, etc. Good luck!!

Kaia is having an early party due to our PCS. The theme is preppy whale. It will be at a local gymnastics place.

So how did it turn out? We are just doing something small for my boy. We have too much going on right now and can't spend extra money.
