Hey guys,

Susan went into premature labor late last night and has been in the hospital. Her water broke not too long ago. She's scared and she needs some well-wishes.

Her exact words:

"FYI, I am in hospital...can you post in JM PR for
Me?.*I started contracting pretty hard last night ....I had 12 in 45 min. I called my hospital and they were full, they sent me to different one & The OB doctor there checked me & I was in preterm labor. They don't have a NICU to accommodate our twins, so they sent me in an ambulance to one in the city. I've been admitted and am on meds to stop labor. I've received the first round of steroid shots for the twins lungs...I'll be here at least 7 days according to the OB & Perinatologist. I'm in an actual delivery room tonight and will be for a few days until I stabilize. I just wanted you to know what's happening. I'm really scared"

I'll keep you guys updated whenever I hear anything.

Oh no! I'll be praying for her and those girls. They need to bake just a bit longer.

I know when my water broke they tried to stop the contractions. They wanted to keep me in the hospital until I reached 34 wks and just monitor the fluid levels. Siera had other plans.

Her DDB has newer updates in the July 2012 PR. I tried texting Susan but haven't gotten any response. I'm hoping no news is good news. As far as I know they managed to slow labor down and the babies are still baking away.

Hi Mamas!
Thank you all for the prayers and thank you especially to Dina for posting for me. As I know more, I'll text Dina, it's super hard to post on JM from my phone. BUT...my updates for today are:
No more water leakage. Doctors think it looks like either the water didn't break or has slow leak that is mending?! Not sure why exactly the first few tests showed it was amniotic fluid...? But the fluid levels are good and I'll take this good news!

We had a baby growth scan...Baby A 3lb 11oz & Baby B 3lb 12 oz...up from 3lb 7oz each on Wed!

Trying to think what else...I got a good nap and am ready to sleep more. Lots of vomiting today from the contractions, but good news is they have slowed way down and are under control for the most part.

You may already know this, but I'm a nerd, so...
The amniotic sack is actually two layers, with water in between, so one of two things could have happened; a) the outer sack broke causing you to lose the fluid that was in between, or b) You had a small break, but yes, it has mended - Pretty cool, huh? Also, your body is constantly making/replacing amniotic fluid, so even if it is slowly leaking, your body will continue to produce more to replenish it.

"Looks like I may go home tomorrow on full bedrest pending today/tonight!!!"

Yay! Our prayers are working! Please keep them coming. We'll keep you all posted as we hear more. Keep up the great progress, Susan!

Update from Susan from earlier today (sorry I wasn't around to post earlier):

She got the second steroid shot for the babies' lungs today. She's nauseated because of the magnesium sulfate. And the final results of the amniotic fluids testing - it's watery CM and NOT her bags of water. There's no amniotic fluid leaking or anything! And she may be able to go home tomorrow on full bed rest depending on how well things go today and tonight.

Yay Susan!! I'm glad those little girls are cooperating!
