My son's not going this year. After alot of thinking, my dh and I have decided that Dakota is learning quiet a bit from daycare and we were not ready to remove him from the environment that he knows yet.

He is in a daycare/preschool, so he is basically in preschool as the curriculum is based on their age as they grow/develop.

My girls started preschool this past fall and have their last day this week. It was only 2x a week for an hour and a half. Next year they'll go 3x per week for 2 hours. They love it and I wanted them to have interaction with lots of other kids and not just each other.

I will start the twins in January-they could go now but they're refusing to PT and I could use the sanity break from having three in preschool at once until then

Bryce starts in the fall--there are not a lot of three year preschool classes around here but Bryce snagged a spot because he aged out of Early Intervention and still needs some speech therapy

Owen isnt potty trained yet, so I'm not going to start him this fall. Not that he isnt ready in other aspects. I used to be a preschool teacher, so I have started some of my old curriculum with him and the little girl I babysit, so he is more than ready when it comes to learning the basics. Next fall he will go to the 4 year old preschool Tues & Thurs from 9-11am. I already got his spot for then.He is 12 days past our schools Kindergarten cut off date, so he will get 2 fulls years of preschool, which I think is more than enough. I dont want him to be completely bored when he starts because he has *too* much preschool...does that make sense?

Interesting to see others with the potty training situation. Luckily Nicholas is in a daycare/preschool that is fine with the 3's not being PT (though most of them are). When he is 4 he does have to be PT though to move up to that class. I keep trying to have hope he will decide to do it willingly by then! :-)

The interesting thing about the preschools that require it by age 3 is that it really doesn't make sense because often the ones that are later to train are the ones that are ahead in other things--like verbal ability, etc, so they would benefit from preschool interaction/learning a lot. I don't think you should exclude a 3 year old based on PT....it goes against what is often taught in regard to child development.

We homeschool and she's doing great with learning. Around here you have to be 3 by September 1st to attend preschool(it's for ages 3-5). Her birthday is Sept 29th so she wouldn't meet the requirement anyway.

My boys go to a daycare/preschool. They teach at the daycare likes other moms said here. We just had to move daycare because we are moving but they are ajusting well and it is their first week. The other place was the same and I would have loved to leave them there but the drive and traffic would be bad and out of our way.
