Right now I got a sick little girl sleeping on me. We were told today she has strep that is causing stomach pain, possible hand foot mouth disease, and I found out Jamie has a heart murmur. They never told me about the murmur before. The pedi says he can only hear it when she is sick. I was like wow, add that to the list of things wrong with Jamie.I am just shocked it was never mentioned to me for 3 years. Glad to know I'm left out of the loop.

Could she have just developed it maybe? Does/did she ever previously have other heart conditions?

Aww I hope she feels better soon and that the murmur doesn't cause any problems. DH had one for a long time when he was little. But eventually it went away.

She has never had any heart problems before this and he has never mentioned it before. He acted like this is something she has had forever. It amazed me that he acts like I should have known this.

Murmurs are actually very common apparently. Siera's cardiologist says there's so much of the population walking around with SOME sort of heart defect and are unaware of it. The only reason that we caught Siera's is because she was premature and an echo was necessary in order to get her discharged from the hospital.
