Does your LO have anything that you bought for him/her and it just seems like it never gets played with?

I thought getting Zachary a train table for his birthday would be a wonderful idea. I viewed hours of entertainment...it sits in the corner of our living room untouched for the most part. He might play with it for 15 minutes a week TOPS. Most of his toys in his room go untouched too. I also got this GREAT deal on all those Little People sets (like 5 sets for under $10) but they really never got played with all that much. I'm not saying it was a waste of money, but I really thought they'd get more use.

How about you? Anything you'd second think if you had to do it over again?

Thank you *kiliki* for the beautiful siggy!

I bough Anaiah a doll for Christmas that just sits in the cupboard. She's just not into dolls and playing mommy yet or on the rare moments that she does do that she reaches for her doctor set and treats her teddies instead of the doll. Oh well, maybe someday she'll start loving her dolly.

Thank you Vicki for the BEEautiful siggie!

Most of Siera's toys. Everything she has loses it's novelty after a week. I've taken to rotating her toys so they get more use (moving the ones from the bottom of her toy chest to the top, etc.).

His tricycle! He never rides it and on the off chance that he does he refuses to use the peddles.

Ride on toys and her bicycle. Our garage is full of them and the only time they get used is when other kids come over....or when the are left inside and i try to relive my childhood by riding them around the living room...lol.

Thank you Mama Trish for my fabulous siggies!

Not really, there are tons of things that other people have bought her (them) but I usually just add to the lego or buy nice play food. My in laws buy crap and they never play with it-- usually really loud, obnoxious plastic things that have no other use than the one thing they do. (which tends to be annoy the he*l out the parents!)

There have been a few things I bought prematurely (puzzles, games), but he has grown into them and plays with most of them now. The one thing I thought would be so cool that they rarely touch are the play silks I dyed for BE for his first Christmas... Oh well.

I'm really picky about not buying a toy that can only be used one way (plastic electronics). I prefer toys that mimic real life (tool set, play food) or inspire creativity (wooden blocks, legos). We have made these wishes VERY clear to in-laws so we don't end up with a bunch of junk. They listen, for the most part...

No not really. Mainly it's clothes that she flat out refuses to wear. I'm pretty strict about the toys people get them exactly for this reason. By now all our family and friends know to call and ask before buying any of my kids toys.
