I'm not certain. I never had this issue with Ry. Chase's tongue is all white. He's not nursing as well as he had been. He'll eat for about 10-15 minutes and then be finished. He is still giving me more than adequate amounts of wet and poopy diapers so he's getting plenty.

I'll be calling the doctors office first thing Monday morning to ge it checked out. Fortunately, I'm not showing any signs.

EEK! I hope that he doesnt have it!!!!!!!!!!
I had let DD go too long with it and I ended up getting the antibiotics too late and had to stop nursing.
Thinking good thoughts for you!

So, how do you avoid thrush? I've been wrapping a warm, wet washcloth around my pinkie and then I wipe off Robin's tongue and inside her mouth a few times a day. I've been hoping that is enough.

Mindy I hope you're able to resolve this issue. I didn't realize that stopping BF'ing could be a consequence. KUP.

I tried to get an appointment for him today but they don't want to see him. I'm waiting for a nurse to call back with a treatment, hopefully.

Too long for me was months....I even took her in but they wern't CONVINCED it was thrush, and were hessitant to give us antibiotics....it was THIER call not mine, and if you go in monday and you arent showing signs I am sure you are ok. I didn't HAVE to stop, it was just tooooo painful for ME. We were both miserable and frusterated and at the end of the day was easier to just give her a bottle....

I don't think you can avoid thrush. I was told that spring/summer babies are the ones who usually get it due to dampness and humidity that fester bacteria??? Maybe if you have the heat on too high or sweat a lot or wear too many layers this can cause it? (I have NO idea, these are just ideas.....????)

KUP....

Well, I was told that if it was just on his tongue they wouldn't treat it. IDk. She was to call back a second time wig the answers to some questions that I had but never did. I'll bug again on Monday. I know Saturdays are crazy for them. One doc in the office in the heart of flu season.
