My doctors say 1 year but I am so scared of things like that I wait til my kids are 2. I feel that it is just to scary. Our doctor said they are better likely to stop an allergic reaction at 2 because they are open to more medicine to help stop a reaction then at 1, but because there is no history in my family wait til 1 (which he is almost 18 months) so I will just wait the half a year.

I tried peanuts but only in peanut butter form and I was scared to even do that but so far so good she is 17 months old so almost two...maybe she'll be ok...I have no nut allergies and neither does my hubby so I hope it goes well.

Yeah, my sister gave him peanut butter, and needless to say I was furious. For me its not something I would risk.

I think Tesla actually sneaked a bite of a peanut butter cup when she was 10 or 11 mos. She eats peanut butter sandwiches regularly now, and gets small pieces of mixed nuts from her dad. She's been having nuts/nut products since she was about a year. We don't have nut allergies on either side of our family, or I may have been more concerned about it.

Thanks everyone for the responses I agree with pixie queen... I probably wasn't as concerned as I could have been because neither myself nor my husband or either side of our families have any form of nut allergies so I let her have it once every couple months to get her used to it and watch for reaction...
