My ds is quite the handful to say the least. My dd was an angel so I am at a loss as how to handle this out of control little boy. He hates to be told no and throws a huge fit. It's like he isn't even hearing what you're saying to him when you try to explain why he can't do something. He is the most stubborn hard headed child I think I have ever met. Just recently he refuses to got to bed no matter how many times you scold him. He thinks it's a big joke and just laughs about it. He even wakes up in the middle of the night and thinks he needs to play or watch tv and I have a hard time getting him back to sleep. This just started out of nowhere about 3 weeks ago. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Stay calm and consistent. Get down to his eye level and have him look you in the eye when you are speaking. Praise him when he is doing something you like, even little things--both my boys are much more eager to listen if it gets them lots of positive attention

Xander is a handful too sometimes. a cute handful but a handful none the less. Our daughter was so calm and peaceful. Not Xander. No words of wisdom. just wanted you to know that you are not alone. hang in there. everyone at work warned me of "2nd child syndrome" saying 2nd kids are the worst. i never wanted to believe it. (i am a 2nd child). but as i type this a soccer ball just flew down my steps and i hear a hysterical giggle from the top of the steps. boys!

Kendall has definitely pushed every button imaginable. She tests us all day long. We recently introduced time out to her and its helped a lot. Now she knows that time out is not fun and it usually takes one warning and she stops. You have to show them that you are the boss. My main problem is laughing. I guess its like a nervous habit or something. But when i don't she knows I'm serious and usually she stops.
