When do you think it's time to buy maternity clothes?

it's different for everyone! i have friends who wore their normal clothes for the first 7 months! then, i have friends who were in maternity clothes much earlier. i was in maternity pants before tops last time around. (i think around 16 weeks or so?) this is my 2nd pregnancy, so i'm not sure when i'll start growing this time!

I bet in about a month I will be breaking out the maternity pants, but this is my 3rd so I think I will start showing pretty quick. Last time I think around 11 or 12 weeks I had to wear maternity pants..

It depends for everyone. I like to go ahead and start SHOPPING for the maternity clothes, even if I can't wear them yet, LOL.

Now that's a GOOD QUESTION.....I haven't even THOUGHT about that yet. I guess when my pants won't button anymore!

I lost a lot of weight after dd was born so I went from a size 8-10 to a 4-6. I kept all my bigger clothes so I'll first start with just wearing those. Then I kept most of my maternity clothes and hopefully they will fit. I'm a bit superstitious and definitely won't buy anything new till either 1. I know everything is going to be ok or 2. I don't have anything I fit into.

I have my maternity clothes from my last pregnancy still... but want to buy some new stuff since I can

Once things start getting uncomfortable I'll switch - not sure when that will be!!! I've done a little browsing but will probably wait a bit longer to order/buy anything.

I lost a ton of weight last year so I still have quite a bit of "fat clothes" that I can probably wear when my clothes get too tight. I'm still a little chubby so I doubt I will need maternity clothes until my belly starts protruding forward.

I'll have to dig my maternity jeans out from whatever box I packed them into. My work pants are big on me, so I can probably get away with wearing them for awhile. I think with my first, I wore maternity clothes early, just because I was excited to be pregnant, whether I needed them or not. With the second, I showed early and was enormous the whole pregnancy. With the third, I stole DH's jeans until I could no longer button them, then broke down and got some maternity jeans....I think I was around 20 weeks.
