hello ladies! i can't even believe i'm posting in a DDC again~ and that it's such an unexpected surprise, again!
yesterday was my 25th birthday, and i was one week late for , so i finally bought a test at the dollar store, on my way to spend my morning with my grandma (she's 62 years older than me, but my best friend, in many ways). i took it around 1:30 pm, and the second line didn't show up for 1-2 minutes. i picked up the test to show her that it was negative, when lo and behold, there it was, a faint pink line slowly, but surely, emerging!
I expect my EDD to be February 20th... it hasn't sunk in yet, at all. what a birthday surprise! then i had to act normal for a dozen guests for my party (first bday party since i was like 15, lol!), but i had to tell my best friend (since age 6!) and my mom, who were equally shocked~ our town had fireworks last night, two streets over from my BF & my new house~ the "biggest" day i've had in a LOOOONG time. plus, i have a broken toe, eek!
man... i was lurking here the other day, looking around to see who was here, and what the conversations were about. i just never dreamed i'd actually get a bfp NOW, though. this wasn't quite in the plans, just yet!
anyhow, i suppose this calls for an introduction. my name is jaQ (short for jacqueline, naturally), and i officially claim this DDC's "Weirdo Mama" title. you'll see.
i've got two "babies" with my ex-husband, tim: Timmy turns 6 in August, and Melissa/Missy turned 3 this spring. I live with my BF of two years, Mike (43). He's got a little girl named cheyenne (2007). we lost a baby last summer, and i had a tiny bit of spotting about three days ago, before i took my test, or suspected much (assumed AF was starting, actually, but it vanished later that day, and has yet to return-- fingers crossed!), so i am pretty cautious here!! but i definitely wanted more children, so as soon as everything turns right-side-up again , i will be utterly thrilled. Boyfriend doesn't know yet, and he will not take it well, not right away, anyway. we were using condoms, and I know he isn't prepared for this news. But, it takes two, and what's done is done (cliches! lol!).
What else?
I'm not sure I'll make it to February. My son was 2 weeks early, and my daughter more than 3 weeks. I'm a little worried about going fullterm now, so we'll all cross our fingers, and hope I can hold him/her in as long as possible. I won't be finding out the gender, and if all goes well, I want to have my first homebirth (water birth?), with ALL of my family around me. I have super-fast labours (2.5 hours, and 30 minutes :O), too fast to get the drugs, so I know I can do it, and am sooo excited!
We live in metro Detroit, born and raised. I'm a big writer/artist, though i don't have much time for either, these days-- but, those are my passions. i'm quite chatty, and i've been on jm for like 3.5 years now. i looooove my friends in the April 2006 playroom, and have been looking forward to making a new set of bonds in a DDC ever since my last pregnancy (how is it that it seems like yesterday and forever ago, at the same time? )-- what a wonderful, special, and exciting experience-of-a-lifetime, to share together. i don't recognise anyone so far, so it's nice to meet you all, and i look forward to us getting to know one another over the next 8-9 months, and then in years to come, as we raise our beautiful babies! best wishes, and happy/healthy pregnancies to everyone!
thank you, platinum~ my birthday was great, and everyone had a great time with the BBQ and fireworks (they were totally better than last year, and practically right above our heads).
Welcome and congrats!! I will praying for a sticky baby!! My EDD is the 20th too..but also both my babies came early so dont know if I will make it to that...
