Last time I had bad morning sickness but I tried to suck it up and only take Zofran when I was working a wedding or going somewhere important. I have friends that would take it everyday and then others that would only do natural remedies even if they didn't work. And then my friend told me that her best friend smoked pot during her pregnancy to ease the nausea . I think that is beyond wrong!! Where do you stand?

i dont think its ok to smoke weed during pregnancy at all, i think it is selfish and ppl make excuses to do it. I smoked it before i was preg with my son and had this intuition to quit, i just didnt feel like smoking it at all anymore. i went from smoking it everyday to none at all. I didnt find out i was pregnant till 8 weeks, and was relieved that i had already stopped a while before that. It musta been and motherly instinct lol. I still havent smoked it since. but whoever wants to go for it i just dont like it anymore. i just dont think its ok if u are pregnant or it interferes with taking care of your children properly.
I was sick every single day for 6 months of my pregnancy, and then finally caved and ask my dr if there was anything that could help and he prescribed me diclectin. he told me to take 2 at night and 1 in the morning. well i only took 1 at night and that was all i needed. most of you might not have heard of it because it is only available in canada. Diclectin is a combination of vitamin B6 and antihistamine (doxylamine) specifically indicated and prescribed to treat nausea and vomiting of pregnancy. It was a life saver for me.

I think smoking weed during pregnancy is majorly wrong. I have heard of people doing it and and when I was 17 I watched my boyfriends sister smoke it when she was pregnant but I am totally against it. When I was pregnant with my DD I stayed sick. I started getting morning sickness around two and a half or 3 months in my pregnancy and one time I even got a stomach virus and it was horrible and It landed me in the hospital. I ended up in the hospital several times from dehydration and my Dr. gave me a perscription of Phenergan and it worked great for me.

I'm paranoid about taking anything at all while pregnant. I won't even drink soda. It hasn't been a problem yet. With my first pregnancy, I had a lot of headaches and had to leave work to lay down. Hopefully it won't be an issue being home with a toddler... I guess if I get desperate I'll take a Tylenol. But I will continue to avoid any and all medicine if at all possible this time too. A little here and there is probably fine... I'm just overly paranoid about these things.

I'm like Alyssa. I already stopped drinking Coke and coffee cold turkey, and I drink a lot. I have been having terrible headaches lately (which I think are unrelated to the caffeine because I started getting them about a week ago) but haven't taken Tylenol yet. If they keep up, I might, but I'd rather not take medicine if I can tough it out.

My Dr. took me off all meds for first trimester. Its only been a week and I miss my zyrtec. But dealing with allergies is worth it for the little bean. Staying off Nexium for 9 months will be torture. Towards the end of my last pregnancy I could only sleep in a recliner due to horrible heartburn.

Definitely a NO on the pot lol. As for the drugs... I am normally the type of person who doesn't take any meds when sick until it is seriously killing me.... and even then I tend to do the minimum or less.

When I was PG last time I had hyperemesis, and was literally bed-ridden for 90 days needing help to even get up to pee. I was given suppositories (couldn't even keep the others down) and I DID take those on schedule lol. But only for part of the time. Most of the rest of the time I suffered through it as I usually do. I don't find anything wrong with taking them though if you need them... but I guess IMO if it isn't "too bad" then I'd wait on them.

Other meds in general.... I try to avoid them completely while PG if I can.

...well I guess I'm going to go against the grain here and risk saying...

I think it's fine. There has been no proof that it harms the baby at all, in fact moms who smoked MJ had slightyl smarter babies for the first few years of the babies life. It is probubly better for you and the baby than taking medical medication.

I have a medical MJ card for my fibromyalgia and migraines. I stopped taking it a while ago just because I thought it was hindering my ability to conceive. But it was a lot safer for me and the potential baby than the other meds they could have put me on. Honestly, I think it has a bad rep. It's not a big deal. Will I do it? Probubly not. But I also didn't take any thing for my vomiting (HG) until I had already lost over 10% of my body weight from it last pregnancy. That was a mistake because my placenta was only 1/2 formed. I was lucky to have a healthy baby.

Anyways, I don't know if I"d do it in the first trimester. But I'm a fanatic about not taking things in the FT. However, I can't say if I get a really bad flair up of fibro, or a debilitating migraine in later months that I won't take one, or smoke some.

No one would judge me for getting a shot of whatever narcotic for a migraine that makes you blind and paralyzed. So no one should judge me for using a natural rememdy

ALL that said. I think MJ for anything other than medical purposes is not right, ESPECIALLY not in pregnancy. And you should have a medical MJ card to use it. Thats my 2 cents
