i know its a bit premature, but the sales are on over here so i bought some t shirts and a pair of trousers. One of the t shirts has Snoopy on it and it says "expecting a delievery", so cute . The last time i was preggo there wasnt that much nice pregnancy clothes available where i live so i lived in big baggy tracksuits and looked scruffy so im making the effort now (theres two new shops open that sell maternity clothes) to look nice this time around and i think when you feel you look good you feel better about being huge. i say huge because the last time i was pregnant i put on sooo much weight. I have to be careful this time around as im getting married in Sept and if the dress doesnt fit im in serious trouble. So did any of you ladies splurge on new clothes?x
i did. i was starting a new job and needed some dress pants and if i'm gonna outgrow them in a few months i figured i'd just go ahead and buy maternity pants. so i got two pair of dress pants, a pair of jeans, shorts and a couple of shirts. i want what they call a "belly band" that allows you to wear your regular clothes longer! i think they sell them at motherhood maternity stores.
oh, i also bought a diaper bag the other day! i couldn't help myself...
Lol I actually bought myself a few regular clothes last night. Some yoga capris, some leggings, a few shirts (all stretchy that mask a growing belly well) and a few summer dresses (again all with stretch factor for belly). I know I probably wont be getting too big by end of summer so though they weren't intended to be maternity clothes they will work nicely I am sure...
Last time I was pregnant I was about midway during the summer and still able to wear these types of shirts with some maternity type bottoms. And I definitely recommend them... not just because they work for maternity and for hiding the less than appealing after baby belly, but because they are priced great and so cute!
Body Central (bodyc.com) Love them!
I will wait this time until I NEED to buy actual maternity stuff as last time I bought it WAY too soon. Though having bought it so soon last time means I have been able to wear them after having my son for comfort and they fit lol... they just look maternity sometimes which stinks...
your totally the same as me. I got so excited when i saw all the nice clothes and i keep looking at newborn clothes wondering will i be buying blue or pink this time around.i have some Belly bands from the last time i was pregnant. i got them when i was in another city for the day shopping. I got them in New Look, its a trendy store over here. I got a black pair of trousers, cuz its dh 30th bday in a few weeks and i had to buy pants so i said id buy maternity instead of buying regular and by then they probably wouldnt fit.
lol I bought a diaper bag the other day too! I already have a good one that carries tons! But I actually saw the cutest one at walmart the other day that would be great for shorter day trips since it isn't so blocky. I spent a TON on my first one but this one was only like 20 bucks so I don't feel too guilty lol.
wow! you guys are shoppers! i bought a couple of pairs of elastic drawstring capri's at target last week because we're going on a trip soon, and i know nothing will fit by then, but i can't walk into the maternity section/store yet. i haven't even told my parents i'm pregnant! what if i run into someone i know! i'm super excited, but my hubbie says to wait. then, he goes and tell his parents on the phone the other day! anyway, i'm also totally bummed because i thought we were done after baby #2, so i got rid of EVERYTHING...except the crib and changing table, so i'm starting from scratch! including maternity clothes! clothes are tough for me because i'm petite too. a lot of the pants are too long.
I'm going on vacation in about a month and a half, so I bought some cute shirts to wear and hopefully show off a little bump. I've also given up on wearing regular jeans and wear maternity jeans. They are much more comfy...the unbuttoned feeling is just not for me!
I actually kept all my maternity clothes from DD, she was born in 08. I got PG with her in July and in June with this one so all the clothes are the same season, so I got very lucky. As well as I have alllllll her clothes, crib, bouncers, changing table etc etc..and this baby will again be in he same season so IF it's a girl I got lucky and my sister is due in Feb so I fig ONE of us has to have a girl, lol.
I bought a pair of maternity pants yesturday but I am having them converted into a Skirt. I am a christian and I dont wear pants due to my religion. I actually bought 3 pairs of pants and 3 shirts but only one shirt and one pair of pants fit. The others were to tight. There are no maternity stores around here. They use to sell them at the Walmart here but they dont anymore so I shopped at a used clothing store and found them. I am going to try to pick a day to go shopping in another town where they do sell maternity clothes and see if I cant buy some things up. There is one more used clothing store here that I havent been to yet and when I called them today they said they have some maternity things so I am going to try to go and check them out tomorrow or thursday.
I bought a couple pairs of dress pants on clearance but that's all I have. When we start telling people I have a group of friends and the first person that was pregnant started a stash and it just gets passed around from girl to girl. We each add something each time so it is a pretty good collection of stuff.
Maria I am like you! My daughter was born in 2002 and all I kept was maybe a couple rubbermaid tubs of her clothes and some infant toys and maybe some baby spoons and such otherwise we are starting from scratch! YIKES! Luckily I have lots of friends with kids so hopefully will get some good freebies haha
We are also not finding out the sex of the baby so that leaves little clothes to buy until baby arrives.
As far as maternity I hope to just buy bigger sizes for a while yet and not convert to maternity until I have to since I would rather have stuff I could wear after baby was born that was not maternity I also am going to try and hit up friends for maternity too!!! I am all about freebies and cheap things this time around LOL!
I told myself I will not buy anything for as long as I can hold out. So far so good. I do have some maternity clothes from my last pregnancy and I took those out of the closet and looked at them yesterday, but that's about it so far. Although I already feel my pants getting snug, so I"ve been wearing skirts and dresses.
I haven't bought any clothes yet. Only because I am only 5 weeks and don't need to. Also, a lot of my girlfriends just had babies or about to have there baby so I will have a bunch of hand me downs. I plan to look cute this pregnancy. I had my son when I was 18 and didn't really have any money. I lived in one pair of jeans, a few shirts/sweaters and scrubs.
I haven't bought anything yet but I did look at the maternity clothes at Target yesterday to see if they had anything that would fit me. They did but it was all super duper ugly! I did buy another pair of capri gaucho pants with a waist band that folds down. I'm sure I'll be able to wear those for a while.
