Hey ladies! I was wondering if when you went to the Doctors office gyn etc. if they mentioned anything about artificial sweeteners and how much you should limit yourself to and if there can be any harmful effects to the unborn baby and overall health of the pregnancy. I'm doing a speech about artificial sweeteners and how the MG should be disclosed on the product in the nutrition section. Any input is greatly appreciated!
I just called this morning to schedule my first prenatal appt. It isn't until Aug 24th. I don't remember anything about it from my last pregnancies, but I will try to remember to ask the doc at my first appt. Thanks for your research and info!

Oh no problem! And thank you so much! I even went to the grocery store myself and looked at the most common foods and condiments including sugar free and fat free as well as the normal ones and they still sneak them in there! Also, when i was a baby and a kid growing up my mom never allowed me to have artificial sweeteners and had a hard time finding kids training toothpaste and etc without artificial sweeteners out there. I looked and saccharin is in there which is to be avoided completely by pregnant women so i figured why have your baby near it when they are so young anyways it completely relates to pregnancy for me.
I hope maybe we can make this happen outside of my classroom and have it included in the nutritional facts! How is a pregnant woman supposed to know how much artificial mgs she is ingesting without the information?
