By the next few weeks most of us will be experiencing many of the 1st trimester symptoms. I was thinking of all of the methods I used during my last pregnancies, and thought it would be a good idea to start a thread with some of our suggestions in it. I could always use more help on warding off the constipation, heartburn and dreaded morning sickness!! So...Let's hear your preferred methods!! (even if it was method you've read about, but haven't tried yet!)

My favorite "cure all" is GINGER ALE, and a bath!! lol! I sip on Ginger Ale whenever I have an upset stomach! I try to always keep some in the house. It seemed to help a lil with my heartburn, during my last pregnancy too. And the bath part always seems to help me when I'm nauseous! Those two and crackers are my favorites, so far.

Ugh, I hated crackers last time! I'm already nauseous, am I crazy? Seriously all day i've been queasy. I was super sick with Carter, up until about 17 weeks. Puking all day every day. I was hoping this time would be different, however i'm guessing if i'm already feeling sick it probably wont be.

I'm going to see about taking ginger supplements this time, if i'm allowed. Hoping that will help. That and forcing myself to eat small meals, frequently. We'll see how that goes though.

Someone on the March board (i think it was there) mentioned Popsicles, a great way to help nausea. Maybe you should give it a shot, Carrie. I hope you're feeling better soon!

Sour candies are also good for keeping nausea at bay along with B6.

I was lucky with my first pregnancy and didn't feel too horrible! (I know... hate me all you want ) Hopefully that will hold true this time too!

I had it a lil in the beginning and the very end, right before labor. But otherwise, my big problems were constipation and heartburn/acid reflux!!! Ugh! The terror!!! I will definitely keep the sour candy and B6 in mind!

I never heard of the sour candy! Thats so funny because early in my last pregnancy, I craved sour candy soooo much in the beginning!

Karen, did you get heartburn in the beginning? Heartburn isn't fun. I lived on tums towards the end of my last pregnancy.

Oh yes, I need to either get a new giant container of tums or find what's left of my last one.

I am starting to get heartburn/indigestion! Yuck!! I know tums didn't work for me with previous pg's, but I hope they'll work this time around. I'm thinking about drinking a lil prune juice, maybe just a shot of it, everyday. Maybe that'll help keep things flowin, and correct my indigestion, heartburn, and constipation issues. I'll have to look into the recommended dose of prune juice. Don't wanna over do it! lol!
