I know it's early and I know it was in the GTKY thing, but do you have any thoughts on names? Are you and your DH or SO agreeing? What about parents/in-laws?

My maiden name was Riley, so we really like the idea of using that (and, of course, my mom and dad do, too!). When my MIL heard we liked it for a girl, she acted as if we were crazy (this coming from the woman whose daughter likes Mehetabelle). So... that kind of upsets me. However, it's our baby, not theirs.

As far as DH goes, I like more trendy names than he does. He likes Mary (our last name is Brown, can you imagine how boring a Mary Brown would be??)... definitely not my style at all. Can you imagine what he said when he heard I liked Addison? I think he thought I made it up!

DH and I mostly agree on style of names. It's just picking boys names that is hard for us. We can agree on about 10 girls names.

If your/DH's family are going to be like that about it, then maybe you'd do better not telling them the name.

I totally agree - It's your baby. Only you and DH need to agree on the name.

I have some names I really like, I'm not sure how much involved the father will be in the naming part. So far my top 3 girl names are Ava, Freya and Feline, and my top 3 boy names are Mons, Mio and Max.

I love Ava and Max! I think both of those go well with your DS's name!

Our baby is named already. We named him/her on vacation while ttc. Both are the same first name:

Girl- Quinlan Amelia ("Quinn" for short)

Boy- Quinn Xavier, (again "Quinn for short)

Hey, I really like Riley for a girl and I think it is super-cool to be able to use your maiden name. Giving a kid MY maiden name would be just cruel.

For us, if it's a girl it's Margaret (Maggie). That's been our name since before we had our first. We've got two boys and are REALLY hoping this is Maggie in my belly!

If it's a boy, I've got no idea. I love Brady, but hubby isn't sold. He's always loked Forrest, but there is no way I'm going there. So, we'll figure that out if/when the time comes.

We are doing the traditional Greek naming. (My SO is greek) Our first was a girl, named after his mom, second was a boy, named after his dad, so now I get to name the next baby after my parents. I'm really hoping it's a girl!! My mother passed a year ago. If this baby is a girl, she'd be due around my mom's bday and would be named after her. Would've loved to have my mom around, but i think this is the best way to honor her, even though she's gone. If a boy...??? My dad doesn't really care about that stuff, and there isn't a name for Kerry in Greek. So we'll have to think about it for a while.

Hubby and I are pretty set on our girls name. We had it picked before we lost our little one. It's Ella Madison. As for a boy, we're definitely not in agreeance there lol. I like Zachary (Zach) and he likes Kaiden. So I guess we'll see.

Though I completely honor tradition, a BIG part of me would love to name my child a trendy name like Addison or Kaiden. I love the new names that are becoming popular!!

Aaron Jack for a boy after my grandpa and DH's uncle that have passed away.

DH likes Kolbie Elizabeth for a girl. I'm not sold. Though her middle name will definitely be Elizabeth.
