So after working with my Military PCM & Tricare for the past month..I finally got a referral to high risk dr (but still military ugh) But of course they can't see me for two weeks and apparently don't understand the meaning of "High Risk". So today I have to pay out of pocket to go to my civilian high risk I have been seeing for the past 3 years. Have to do some blood work and probably get put on uterogestan or some other progesterone tablets. I'm relieved to finally be going to the doctor..so annoyed I am having to pay out of pocket because combination of tricare/military is not a good thing.

*Update*
So..called my civilian dr (that I have been seeing for 3 years btw) to see if I need to bring some sort of copay since I don't have a referral. After talking with billing she asked..
"well will you be here for your whole pregnancy?"
"I am trying to get a referral from Portsmouth Naval, but would like to see my dr there today to get started on some Progesterone since I can't get an appt with Portsmouth for at least 2 weeks."
"Well if you're not gonna be here your whole pregnancy hes not going to want to see you."-SHE ACTUALLY FREAKING SAID THAT!!!
She put me on hold, went and talked to him and pretty much he said he doesn't wanna start seeing me this pregnancy if I won't be there for my whole pregnancy!
So as I am bawling on the phone she is trying to justify why he is refusing me care after I have been there for 3 years!!! Ugh I am at a lost and DH is finally at breaking point & calling someone higher up to see if we can get help. It just seems like everyone we have talked to could care less about our situation. I just don't want to lose another one because someone else didn't care enough to help.

OH HECK NO!!!!! I'm so sorry! I don't blame you for being so upset!!! If I were you, I would show up at that Dr.'s office and tell them you are having cramps and need help now!!! Tell them if they refuse you again, tell them that you are reporting their office and that they will be hearing from your lawyer!! I could see if you were new, and haven't had complications in the past. But like you said, you've been with them for three years, and are HIGH FREAKIN RISK!! Ugh! Give us their number, and we'll all call them and complain until they do the right thing!

Thank God your DH is helping you out, mine wouldn't have a clue what to do! I am praying for you guys hun. Continue to keep us posted, and please vent as much as possible!

I feel terrible that the doc is doing that. I wish that I could do something for you. I hope that you get to see someone very, very soon.

Well I guess hubby calling did something...the clinic manager on base called and said she is gonna go ahead and push my referral through without me having to come in. FINALLY! I made an appt with a different doctor that I have hard a lot of great things about. My 1st appt is Thursday...I will only get to see a nurse but will at least start my quantitative betas. Nurse said she recommends Natural Progesterone Cream since no one will prescribe me anything until I am seen by Dr. Said it won't do any harm..just good but I can't stop using it. Have any of you tried it??

I am glad you got an appt. I was going to suggest just going to the ER if you don't want to wait that long.

(hugs)
