hmmm he didn't even want me to come in first....he just called in antibiotics for an upper respiratory infection (which is most likely what I have)....anyone else's doc just call stuff in without having them come in? It is nice on one hand but hubby was all "umm I dunno if I like the fact he just chucks meds at ya without seeing ya"

What do you think?

My doctor called me in a prescription of Phenergan for nausea... that's quite a bit different though. Oh and Prenatal's once... Just cause I am a spaz and forgot to ask for a script at my appointment.

I don't think I like it. I'd prefer to be seen first. Especially for an antibiotic.

Well, it makes it more convenient for you but I'm really surprised that he would call in an antibiotic without seeing you first.

Yeah it's a bit weird but I have had them do that before for me as well....he knows I am pregnant as it is my OB I called and the nurse even asked how far along I was. I see him next Thursday but would really like this junk gone before then since I have had it since last Friday. I would assume it is indeed an UPRI or bronchitis which I would think would fall under the same thing....I can sleep at night though and with bronchitis before I could not. I just know I cough and instantly get horrid breath and taste in my mouth from what I got going on....YUCK

I think being sick I would want to be seen. Especially with the whole swine flu thing, wouldn't you want to rule that out? If it is stuff like birth control pills, bladder infection medicine or nausea medicine I think calling it in is great!

Have you had the same thing before? I know back when I used to have chronic tonsilitis they wouldn't ask me to come in when I called but rather just sent me for the prescription.

It could also be that no matter what it turns out they would have put you on an antibiotic for your symptoms anyway and he wanted to save you the trip in so you weren't exposed to others who might be sick with something even worse like swine flu.....

I dunno. If you are concerned though I would ask them if you could be seen to be sure.

Nuh I am not that concerned just thought I would see what others thought since my hubby thought it was weird! But yeah i get this junk pretty much every year and I think since I have had no fever etc and described all my symptoms they prob just gave me some generic amoxcillin or something that is safe to take while preggo to knock it out of me. Plus I see the doc next Thursday so if I am not better then I am sure he would do more testing or whatever...
