Ok, So I live about 650 miles away from my mom. Her birthday happens to be today, so I spent a lot of time this morning picking out the perfect flower arrangement to be delivered to her at work. The arragement was beautiful, and it included a box of chocolate, a balloon, and a little teddy bear. All in all, the entire thing cost about 75 bucks because I paid to have it express shipped. Needless to say, when the time rolled around for my mom to call me all excited......nothing. So, I actually had to call her and ask if she received her gift yet. NOPE!! So, I called the place that I made the order with on line, and they directed me to the actual local flower shop in my moms area. I called, and the lady was VERY rude, and she just sounded like she had no idea what I was talking about?? Umm...HELLO.?? Then she's like "OH yeah, here's your order....ummm we rejected it around 1:00 because we didn't have the balloons, bear, or chocolate! Excuse me???? I placed my order at 10:30AM....why didn't they call me??? The lady said it was the other places fault, so of course, I call them. She pulled me up on the computer and began to tell me that the lady at the local flower shop didn't even reject my order UNTIL 2 minutes AFTER I had called them?? ***!! Ok, so now I'm really mad. I really don't care who's fault it is. If I placed my order at 10:30 in the morning, and you realize that you don't have the proper materials, someone can at least get a hold of me so I could place another order!! Now, it's obviously too late to order my mom anything! AND I won't get my money back for 7 days!! What a friggin rip off!!! Thanks for listening......I needed to get that out. My poor mom... she said it was OK, but I was really looking forward to suprising her!!

DH has ordered flowers online for me for valentine's day during both deployments and have had terrible experiences both times. The first I waited all day for them (he can't keep secrets so I know they were coming) - and even postponed plans thinking they would come late (Vday was on a Friday that year). Nothing - they came on Monday. This valentines day he ordered 18 roses in a vase and maybe something else and I got 12 tulips for the same price - needless to say I wasn't a very happy person and told the company exactly what I thought and we ended up getting all of our money back.

It was the thought that counted though so he got brownie points even though the florists screwed up. I'm sure your mom thinks the same thing.

I've also instructed him to never order flowers for me again. Sad because I like the surprise once in awhile but the frustration isn't worth it. I think calling a florist direct works - but maybe not in your case since the florist didn't seem too helpful.

Wow, that really stinks!! I would have been so mad. I am sorry that you weren't able to surprise your mom like you wanted to.

Thats horrible! I would have been so pissed and/or crying my eyes out with these preggo hormones.
My mom is across the country, so I know what it is like not to be close.

That is insane They should have delivered them reguardless and then said here is your money back we are sorry the order was incorrect or incomplete....
