DH is sick with the flu. He went to the dcotor today who said it's definately the flu and offered to swab him to confirm it's H1N1. Well, since the seasonal flu isn't here in CA yet, there's no point. It's pretty safe to assume he has H1N1. It seems to be a very mild case.

But, when he spiked a temp on Sunday, I called my work and talked to the OB on call. He ordered me some Tamiflu. I am taking one a day for 10 dyas. This stinks because now it doesn't matter that I got the vax this week!! I would have developed immunity without it! And, it won't be effective to help protect me from catching it from DH. Which, by the way, I think I AM getting it. No fever yet. But, definately the respiratory effects: cough, congestion, sinus presure and headache. And, the amount of fatigue is unbelievable!! I could sleep all day. DH is actually getting me up to eat and drink fluids.

And, since I am getting some symptoms, I really doubt it's the seasonal flu. I got my vax for that almost a month ago! I have seasonal flu immunity (if they picked the right strain!).

UGH!

Back to bed . . . .

From what I have read, it takes about a week to be "fully effective".

That would be just my luck too. Hope the tamiflu can knock it out for you and you & DH are feeling better soon!

Aww, I'm sorry you're going through that. I just got the H1N1 vax today and I'm crossing my fingers that I don't get exposed before it takes effect.

That really sucks.... that is what we are sort of going through right now as well, though we're still waiting to see if DH will get anymore of the symptoms before we get him checked since so far it seems to just be a cough and throat tickle. Luckily my son and I haven't shown any symptoms yet. But we both got our vaccine last week and then a day or two later Dh started coughing! And now it is confirmed that most of the guys he works with have h1n1 or someone in their family does.....
