I drank apple juice and ten mins. later I felt a "thud thud" right next to my belly button (on the right side of my belly button). This is also where I strained my abdominal muscles b/c this is the exact spot that it hurt yesterday. I don't know!---do you think it's my muscles contracting and relaxing and getting back to normal since I pulled them, or do you think it's Alyssa????????? When I went for my 20 w, they used the tape and she said thats where my uterus is.

I don't want to get excited or tell DH or my family b/c I know they will ask me if I've felt any other movements and if it really is just my muscles relaxing, then I will have to explain it to them.

I'm never steam cleaning my carpets again!!! Now I can't tell and what if she is kicking me and I'm missing it b/c I'm chaulking it up to muscle spasm (that's what it feels like, like after you walk or run and you sit down, and your legs start to twitch...it was fast but that's what it felt like).

--------
Now I felt a thud maybe 3 inches from my belly button!!! I think I'm feeling her!! I hope it's not gas!!! I feel like I want to cry, seriously, I'm at work typing and holding back tears...if this is for real, it's an AMAZING feeling--oh my, now I'm really tearing up!!

Hmm. I would think it was the baby, but I do get muscle spasms like you described. The muscle spasms I tend to get are a lot higher than where my uterus and baby are though. In a few hours, try drinking more juice and see what happens. Things like apple juice, orange juice, or ice cream tend to make babies kick more. I'm hoping this was movement!

thuds are definitely Alyssa! Welcome to the baby movements club!!! You probably feel it higher because your placenta may be lower in your uterus so she doesnt have as many layers to go through for you to feel it.

Definitely Alyssa! Isn't it a great feeling?? I have an anterior placenta (you do, too, right?) and missed the whole "flutter" stage. Went right to thuds and it seemed like once they started, I've felt them every day.

Awwww, congrats!! I love that feeling so much!! I thought it was just spasms, too, at first, but now that they've been happening almost every day for a little while, I've finally decided that it's the baby for sure! It's such an amazing feeling.

I am fighting back tears!! It's amazing to hear all moms say that they felt their babies kick for the first time, but first time moms, especially ones that I'm close to....is super amazing! I am so glad I came back to the boards in time to share this amazing time in your pregnancy with you! Congrats!!
