My midwife says if you get 5 or more in an hour then drink water and lay down. If you still get 5 or more in an hour again, go to L&D.
Last pregancy I didn't follow that as closely as I should've. I had such an irritable uterus from so many babies close together that it would've meant constatnly lying down. Something I just couldn't do with so many little ones!
My last pregnancy I had a TON of BH during both of the 2nd and 3rd trimesters. I don't mean to scare you but I ended up going into preterm labor without knowing it (BH contractions feel exactly the same as preterm contractions (they don't really hurt)). I doubt you'll have that issue but just keep it in the back of your mind. If it doesn't feel right call your doctor. Try to keep a log of how often you are having the contractions. Drink a lot of water because dehydration can cause contractions. At your next appointment with your doctor share you log of how many you are actually having. They may just keep a closer eye on you. If you do have more than 5 in 1 hour you need to go to L&D to make sure that you aren't going into preterm labor. I'm sure you'll be fine. I've had a few BH so far (probably would have had more if I hadn't been getting these progesterone shots) and I think I may have had a real contraction on Saturday (completely overdid it that day. contraction started in the back and wrapped around to the front just like a real contraction. only had 1 and it didn't last very long).
