so i've been making these flower pot hangers:
Design*Sponge Blog Archive we like it wild: the hanging gardens of bernal heights
and they're really neat and easy to make [once i figured out the very beginning] and i've been making them for my mom and sister and grandma [and even a couple for my niece].

here's the question i have. i have sooo much yarn and i'd really like to make some other things to give them for christmas. does anyone know of anything or have any patterns that are easy and don't take long, but are cute and would make a good addition to what i'm already giving them?

I taught myself to crochet in the past couple months so I could make toys for DD and baby, I'm LOVING it! Here is a site with tons of free patterns: Crochet Pattern Central - Free, Online Crochet Pattern Directory and etsy.com has lots of really cute and affordable patterns

ditto!

I can knit or sew all day long, but for whatever reason, my brain can not crochet.

This is the little rattle that made me decide I had to learn: (that's the one I finished). I can't sew to save my life, even buttons don't happen but honestly just watching some youtube videos and using this book: Amazon.com: Teach Yourself Visually Crocheting (Teach Yourself Visually) (9780764596414): Kim P. Werker, Cecily Keim: Books I've gotten decent at it. I also made this for DD for Thanksgiving:

Trust me if I can figure this out anyone can LOL I have a few more projects I'm working on right now, I also really want to make some birds to add to the mobile I ordered for the baby (birds are the theme in the nursery).

Those are cute!! I can knit, crochet and sew.. I actually learned in college to crochet for a college class since I went for design.. hahaha. I thought that was hilarious ..

But all I really do are scarves and afghans. I should try something harder but I never do. The most complicated thing I did was a diaper cover. I may try some of these patterns. I'll let you know how it goes.
