So, if you have a few contractions (NOT BH) that do stop with a little rest and water, would you still call the doctor?

If they've stopped I think you'd be ok, but if they start up again I might would call it's so early to have contractions I'd think.

I would call to check in. I had contractions every 2 minutes for over 2 hours yesterday. I called and they had me go to L&D immediately. Contractions were showing up on the monitor but it wasn't pre-term labor. They're pretty sure I just got dehydrated. After I drank a gallon of water they stopped.

Thanks girls. I think it was from being too active yesterday. I thought I was staying home all day...so I started doing some house cleaning around 8 am (you know how stressful that can get on the body!), then at 11 am a friend called and invited me to go shopping for our husbands (that took until 3pm), then DH and I put up our tree (with me rolling around on the floor) and finally last night we went shopping and to a movie. I drank a lot through out the day, so I know I was dehydrated. I think it was just too much. I was extreme nauseous from the cold weather and activity. On the way home for the movies I had contractions all the way home. They kind of scared me because they were much more painful than when I was in labor with Max. Earlier in the day I had some stabbing pains, more like that electric nerve pain, enough to make me yelp but over right away.

Anyway, I'll take it easy today. If I have any more I'll call. If not I'll wait until Monday. I have to go to that building for an appointment for Max anyway.

Thanks!

I had a real contraction last Saturday night. I did a bunch of shopping that day. Then I went to a college football game at the Dallas Cowboy Stadium. That place is huge so I did a ton of walking. I hardly drank anything that day so I know I was dehydrated. When I was laying in bed that night I had a real contraction (started in the back and wrapped to the front) that lasted about a minute. That was the only one I had. I'm high risk for preterm labor (since I have a preterm son). I didn't call my doctor because I only had 1. I place on telling her at my appointment next week.

I'd at least let them know what is going on at your next appointment. But if they stop I wouldn't worry too much.
