They did an ultrasound last week when I was in the hospital. They told me that the baby was measuring 2 weeks ahead...I was supposed to be 30 weeks 6 days and I was measuring 33 weeks 1 day. They said they estimated he already weighed 4 lbs. 10 oz.?!? Am I crazy or does that not seem right? I mean, at my other ultrasounds I've usually been measuring about a week ahead but 2 weeks?? They acted like it was totally normal, but I was so shocked! Anyone else ever measure so far ahead?

Completely normal. With each trimester U/S are more inaccurate. So, they can be 1 week off in either direction in the first trimester, 2 weeks off in the second trimester and 3 weeks off in the third trimester.....and STILL be in the normal range. Secondly, there is more variability in growth rate the later the pregnancy goes along. Thirdly, the weight estimate is largely based off of femur length. As a result, if you have a long-legged baby they'll overestimate the weight and vice-versa. That's a big reason why it's not ideal to totally trust weight estimates based on ultrasounds. For example, they told me that DS was going to be a 10lber. He was born at 8lbs. TWO WHOLE POUNDS OFF.

HTH.

Yep, I did. With my son from as early as 9 wks he measured big, and got even bigger at the end. At one point they were going to move my due date but didnt. He never ever measured less than 2wks larger than the dates and I'am very sure on my dates, my AF is like clock work.
He was born at 39wks1day and weighed 7lbs. 13ozs. and I remember at my 36 week or so ultrasound them estimating he would be about 9lbs, but there is no way he would have gained that much by my due date, so they can be off. Doesnt mean you are going to have some news making huge baby, lol I wouldnt worry.

When I had my ultrasound this time they moved my date because he was measuring much bigger than he should have been by the dates I gave them. I was pretty sure I was right but I just went with it because my AF had been somewhat erratic and I may have been wrong. I was originally due Feb 22, and now I'm due Feb 11. I have no idea how big he is now, just that he's measuring right for the due date now with the measure on the outside.

Ive not ever understood this either.
My measurements say the baby is in the 96% of height and weight and measuring bigger then the dates but I figured that might just mean the baby might come earlier???
