Anyone started theirs?? I made my first tonight (well I made double tonights dinner and froze half).

If you're finished how many did you make?

I plan on making double meals most of next week and freezing my leftovers.

That's what I have been doing Goodgirl, making double and freezing.

So far only three nights worth, my goal is 7!

I did this with my 2.5 year old daugther before i had her and between that and church members help, I did not have to cook for almost two weeks!

I have been doing that for about the past week with my meals. Tonight I even cooked a 15 pound turkey and we broke it up into bags for meals. Tomorrow I am going to make some cassarole with it also. Luckily my mother in law is also coming and she LOVES to cook. She lives in NY and has been cooking meals and putting freezing them for us. When she flys out she will bring a cooler with the meals in it as one of your luggage! Fingers crossed I won't have to worry about cooking for three weeks to a month!

WOW Gina that's great. I'd love to not cook for a month!

(not that I don't know how to cook but she always insists on doing it and she's really quick!)

No, but I've been making requests to mom and MIL!! I don't want anyone sleeping over after we come home from hospital, and MIL is used to doing this for her grandkids so to ease the blow we've requested meals! DH told his parents NOT to buy us any gifts for Christmas this year, but instead bring two trays of lasagna when baby comes home. I already told my mom to prepare her crockpot stew and sausage & peppers. Those three items should keep us good for at least a week if not more.

(did some of this post disappear?)......Anyways, it's a great idea but I doubt I will make any meals ahead. I will make sure my house is fully stocked with groceries and toiletries, etc as my DD draws near.

I don't think so, Amazona started one very similar the day after this one.

Danielle- I just put them in gal sized ziplock baggies. I'll put them in the fridge overnight before use and they'll pour into any dish I want to use to bake in. For things like lasagna I use disposable baking tins (those cheapie aluminum things)

I put them in plastic freezer containers. I just finished making curry shrimp, and a dish I call Alcapulco chicken. Basically it is chicken with salsa, black beans and some veggies and it is simmered for awhile. My hubby loves it!

*lurking*

I froze a bunch of meals before our IVF cycle. Here is what I ended up freezing:

banana bread
pumpkin bread
chili
chicken and lentil stew
been and lentil stew
cider beef stew
sloppy joe mix
tortellini soup
chicken enchiladas
chicken pot pie
beef pot pie
pizza pasta casserole
ravioli lasagna
calzones

If anyone wants recipes, PM me! I ended up overdoing the freezing a bit, but I'd rather have too much than starve while on bed rest

I'm going to start freezing after the new year. I have to clean out some freezer space, anyway. I'm planning on at least lasagna and mini-meat loaves, but I need to think of a few other meals. My mom is coming, but after living with her last year, I don't trust her to make a meal from scratch... in fact, I'm not sure I trust her to reheat the frozen meals!

I've done some spaghetti sauce and chili. I really need to get on the stick though!
