I had a good appointment today, although pretty uneventful. I was thinking it was the gestational diabetes test, but my midwife wants to do that in 2 weeks. Too bad I didn't eat my yummy doughnuts this morning! I've gained 6 pounds since last month, but my total gain is 14 pounds. I'm right on track for total gain and my midwife wants me to gain about a pound a week from here on out. I'm actually measuring at 28 weeks this time, but my midwife thinks I may even out a little. With a 6 pound gain in 4 weeks, it sounds like the baby had a growth spurt. She brought up the subject of depression and wanted to see how I was feeling. I told her that I was feeling okay for now, but I do have weeks at a time when I'm feeling rather unhappy and more than just hormones. We talked about possibly going on some anti-depressants before the baby is born just so we can prevent any PPD. I'd like to talk to Lily's pediatrician first and just get her thoughts on taking Zoloft while breastfeeding before I make my decision. From now until 36 weeks, I'll be having appointments every 2 weeks. The next one will be with the third midwife in the practice that I haven't met yet.
I think it sounds like you're taking the right steps for the depression! Its a really important thing to look at. too bad you didn't get your donuts, but be happy you didn't have to drink that yucky stuff yet.. blech lol.
