I had my peri appt on Monday, and my 7th u/s. Charlie looks great, weighing approx 1 lb 6 oz which worries me a little. My body can't hold onto the babe once they get about 6 lbs and I'm worried he might reach that early. My peri is concerned because he is already way way down, head resting on my cervix ready to go. He checked my cervix and it looks good but now I have to be vigilant on any pressure I may feel. I was 24 weeks the FIRST time I went into labor with David so I'm quite nervous. I'm also terrified I'll have another placenta abruption (I'm at a higher risk due to EDS - especially if I'm carrying an EDS child).

((hugs)) I'm glad your appt went well though. And you've got a healthy little one. I'm already dilated to 2 centimeters so I understand the worry of preterm labor, and I also have had a placental abruption Anytime you wanna chat PM me...

Hugs!!! I'm glad he's doing well and growing well. I hope he stays in as long as possible! Have they talked about giving you the steroid shots?

They'll do steroid shots if I go into preterm labor or if my cervix begins to change.

Be careful Beth! What a stress for you!
Does your peri give you any flack about nursing since you have a history of pre-term labor? I ask because my midwife asked me to stop nursing even though I don't really have any history of problems or pre-term labor (well, technically I did with my twins, but thats because it was twins). I said no, I wouldn't stop and she said she understood and agreed that there was evidence out there showing it was safe. I was wondering if you had run into any problems from your docs?

I hope baby stays put! My baby is already head down and super low as well, but I have no history of pre-term labor so my midwives don't seem concerned.

Nope, both my peri and my OB are supportive of nursing. They both agree that studies show it's not harmful since it's been occurring the whole time. My peri, while concerned about my per-term labor issues, is quite impressed that I they've always been able to stop my pre-term labor so he's a lot more relaxed about things.
