So, last night, in the middle of the night, I woke up to this horrible pain way down low, where my c-section scar is. It covered a large area though. It was a constant, wave like pain, that felt like a bruise. It didn't feel like cramps/contractions at all.

I am wondering if it's gas/intestinal pain since (TMI) I've been constipated now for going on 3 days. I think I remember getting it once before and I was constipated then also. When I woke up this morning, the area was still a little tender and getting up and moving I could feel/hear gurgling and had very slight twinges of that same pain.

Do you think it could just be the constipation? Baby is moving fine, so I'm not too concerned but I may run it by the doc at my next appt (or if it keeps happening). Any suggestions on how to get things moving? I know fiber etc...but not sure that will help immediately at this point!

Colace.. I think you can take up to 300mg, or more a day, because its COMPLETELY safe and NOT a laxative..

Usually, if its something with your bowels, your left side will be irratated as well.. with the pain being down so low, I would call your doctor.. The baby is taking up *most* of that space, and the other intestines are pushed out of the way.. Its hard to tell where what is anymore..

Good luck.. I'd suggest the colace though for sure if it is constipation! And water, and maybe even some coffee (stimulant)

I was going to say try some Coffee for immediate relief. Even decaf coffee will help.

Ugh, I'd love to have coffee, but I gave it up b/c it tends to give me horrible stomach pains (I've had issues with using too much advil - same idea). How about soda? (gave that up too b/c of heartburn, but I do have it occasionally). Probably won't work as well.

Maybe I will ask the doctor - I should call today to get my bloodtest results anyway!

Could the constipation cause that much pain though?
Thanks ladies.

I'd call just because the pain is where your c-section scar is. If you need to call for blood work, it certainly doesn't hurt to ask. Otherwise, grab a bag of prunes from the store. Prunes usually work the next day for me and you don't have to worry about an upset stomach either. Hope the pain goes away!
