So our crib came in today and DH just finished putting it together. I had already bought this crib mattress very early on Serta Perfect Dream Crib and Toddler Bed Mattress - Babi Italia - Babies "R" Us. I went online to get the dimensions of it to be sure it's supposed to fit our crib before we took the plastic off of it. Come to find out the reviews for it aren't very good. Several people complained that it was too soft and the middle of it started sinking in just weeks after using it.

So BTDT moms...do you remember what you used for your babies? I paid $85 with a coupon (originally 99.99) for the one I have now. Am I gonna have to shell out more if I want a decent mattress?

Well I may have answered my own question. This one by Kolcraft is actually cheaper and people sound happier with it Kolcraft Sealy Natural Rest Crib Mattress - 52 x 27.50 x 5.25 : Target. But I'm still open to suggestions in case it doesn't work out either!

If it's any help, the one we have with DS is a Kolcraft Sealy and we've been happy with it, we're buying a similar model for this baby :-)

What does your crib look like?

This is the one I went with, bit more then you paid but its free shipping (not sure if you're a costco member) but it has excellent reviews and fits very snuggly/safely in our crib. Plus I like that it's organic. Costco - L.A. Baby Organic Cotton 2-in-1 Orthopedic Mattress

I this DD's mattress was around $100. My in laws bought it for us. I will be getting this mattress for our new little one:

Naturepedic No-Compromise™ Organic Cotton Classic Crib Mattress

It is pricey, but it is the ONE big thing that we will be getting for this baby and almost everything else is used (clothes) and the crib etc was DDs. So I wanted to buy one really nice new thing for this little guy... and what better than an organic crib mattress?

I'm pretty sure Kinley's is a Sealy Or Serta...can't remember lol mattress from Wal Mart...it isn't too hard or too soft...it was around $60. I am asking for the same mattress for this baby too...I think its $75 now.

I bought an inexpensive safety 1st mattress from walmart for 36 dollars.. It has great reviews, is nice and firm, and fits very snugly in our crib.

With DS I used a used crib mattress, and couldn't even tell you what brand it was.

I think mine was a Kolcroft cheapy from Wal-Mart. Actually I have 3 mattresses because I have 2 from my DD and then when we bought the used crib (that is now a recall and I can't use) has one too.
