We're 99.9% sure we're going to name this baby Violet Marie, but we still need to pick her Korean name. It won't be part of her legal name, so it won't be on the birth certificate, but it's still a huge deal. Traditionally, the paternal grandparents pick the name but DH's father is deceased and his mom is in a nursing home and not really all there in the head. My mom (also Korean) would be the next to pick it but she doesn't speak Korean anymore so she doesn't really know names. So, for Lily we picked it and we'll do the same for this baby.
Lily's is "Eun-ae" which means "grace with love". Any girl we have HAS to have "Eun" in the front of the name (most Korean names are 2 syllables) as it now denotes which generation she is in for our family. "Eun" is pronounced like "oon"
We have it narrowed to these 3 choices. Which do you prefer?
Eun-Kyung (grace and honour)
Eun-Mi (grace and beauty)
Eun-Sun (graceful and good)
I looooooove Violet Marie, btw. My hubby said we could name our next baby girl that because I REALLY wanted Violet for this one, but he doesn't love it but is willing to compromise on the next one because I'm compromising for this one. And Marie is my middle name!
Thanks for my gorgeous siggy, Jaidynsmum!!!
