We got Emily's bed all put together last night. It's this one

We bought a safety rail to go on it but since the bed does not have a box spring it won't work. All you use on this bed is just a twin mattress. So how do I keep her from falling off? I found this but it's $70 I'm thinking my MIL and I could make one much cheaper than that.

Snug Tuck Pillow :: The Product

Any other ideas for me? She's excited and so ready to sleep in her bed but I know if she falls out even once she'll be done with it.

Thanks ladies!

I'm not really sure about that one.. DS has a bed without a boxspring, but he got it a few years ago, and was a little older than your DD..

the normal safety rails won't work (that tuck under the mattress) obviously because of the lip being there.

I don't know... good luck though.

Is there any way you could still use a more standard one and just tuck it under the mattress so it would be inside the lip? I am a first timer so I don't know demensions, etc, but I was just thinking maybe it would be possible to still use if it isn't too bulky and you could just slide it under the mattress if there is enough wiggle room between the mattress and the lip.

Also, I love that bed, it is beautiful! I bet your daughter is excited!

I'm not sure but I saw in the One Step Ahead catalog the other week that they have a similar pillow but for cheaper. Here's the link: Bolster pillow

My other thought would be to just put some pillows along the edge and have her sleep between them and the wall, but if she's a big mover then she might kick them off and then fall out.

One of the ladies in my PR says she uses this:

Bed Bug Bumpers - Portable Safety Bed Guard Rails

It's only $18.00 with shipping so I ordered it instead.

I was going to suggest a pool noodle. It's not high, but it does provide some kind of barrier.

I love the bed! I was going to suggest the bolster type pillow but it looks like you found one.
