yes of course if its for the babys well being its a must to get checked for it BUT i swear if it wasnt i wouldnt even consider getting tested for it. seriously how embarrasing for someone who is already overweight to have that on top of the 30 lb weight gain to date (yes i mean me!) i havent had the guts to go because i have a feeling iam going to fail but i have to go this week for sure before its "too late" and since now i have a new doctor who is alot nicer with my whole "weight issues" i dont want to start off on the wrong foot by ignoring this with him. BUT i still cant believe ive gained 30 pounds in what.. 28 weeks? wow! its sad yet i must remain sane because i know im pregnant so for now its fine i guess, but i cannot wait until i can start trying to LOSE THE WEIGHT.. im sorry for posting this but i needed to vent, especially for being a "plus sized mom"

hugs hun. Worry after the babe comes and do what you can then. Stressing now is not good for you or for the babe.

I am sorry you are upset but I guess I don't understand why you find the test embarrassing. Does you doctor do something different. Normally, you just drink the gross stuff and get a blood draw.

You being overweight won't cause you to have GD. Your placenta is producing a hormone that is blocking the insulin. There is nothing you can do to prevent this.

I hope you pass the test with flying colors but if you don't please know that we have a couple ladies (myself included) with GD let us know if you have any questions.
HUGS
