I have the option of getting a 4D ultrasound at 28-32 weeks, but it is an out of pocket cost of $125. We've decided that we'd rather spend the money on diapers, wipes, baby items, etc. So I'm going to opt out.

Anyone else not going to get one?

I never paid for one out of pocket. One was gifted to us as a Christmas gift from my sister.

I don't like them. They're great for other moms that want them but they're not for me. I think they look creepy...

We haven't found out the gender yet. If baby does not cooperate during the anatomy scan, we may get one so we can find out the gender. Otherwise, we will save the money since we will be moving this spring and we need quite a bit for the baby.

I've never been interested in getting one. (However, if he hadn't cooperated at the anatomy scan, I would have considered it!

When we do ultrasounds at the doctors they put 3d on for us for free. I would never pay for one though.

I would LOVE to get one but we aren't willing to pay the pocket price and DH thinks they are creepy.. I'm sure if he saw HIS baby on the 3d/4d it would be different but i'm pretty frugal.

If someone else was willing to pay for it then I would get one in a heart beat.

I would love to get one, but DH does not. He doesn't want to pay for it. Since this is our last baby, I would love to get it done, but I guess it's not going to happen!

I considered it but now that I will be scanned at least monthly I will likely get some 3d shots anyway so I am opting out to save the money.

I doubt if I'll get one. My doc doesn't have them and they cost quite a bit here.

I'm not getting one, because I think some of the images actually look ugly. I'd hate to get a photo that made my baby look ugly - I'd have nightmares about having a monster in my belly lol!

We're sticking with the old fashioned ultrasounds. I'm not even sure if 3D ones are available in my city or how much they would cost. But the old style works fine for me.

I would totally pay for it if I didn't find them creepy.

I won't be. I did get an elective gender scan a few weeks ago b/c I knew my dr would have me waiting til 21 weeks and I just didn't want to. They did turn on the 3D briefly, but it was at 15 weeks. I'm really not interested in getting a sneak preview of what baby looks like. I feel like I've already cheated and gotten the gender. I'd rather see her in person.

DH and I had already decided that if we couldn't have found out at the anatomy scan, then we would not pay the money for the 3D (it's 200 here!!) It was not that important to us to find out the gender.

I will not be getting one that I would have to pay for out of pocket. If we don't find out babies gender at our scan this week, it will be a surprise.
