Breastfeeding was really tough at first, plus he ended up with severe jaundice and under the lights for 24 hours. I let them supplement. I didn't have the fight in me and I knew he'd be better quicker, I didn't want to leave without him! But now it's going quite well, he has no problem going from boob to bottle and back! I am just so tired!!!

I'm hoping you'll have good news for me today!

YAY! I am so happy for you!!! How was labor itself? Breastfeeding is TOUGH. I just had a lactation consultant come today in fact. My supply isn't great so I'm pumping a lot to bring it up.

I'm so excited for us! I'm totally exhausted and drained but I am so obsessed with him! Isn't it great!

labor wasnt bad... thanks to the epidural. 6 hours only 20mins of pushing. The docs said I made it look easy!

i have been having a hard time with breastfeeding... supplementing at night which I plan to stop now that I am home... we will see. i am going to do my best...

i am not too tired... I think the 10 months of insomnia really helped me! I am sure that is going to change now that we are home though. Jaxon is developing Jaundace they said I need to feed him naked infront of a window.

Ryan had terrible jaundice in the hospital, the levels were so high that he had to be under a light for 24 hours and be supplemented. I'm trying to stop that as well now. I highly recommend getting a lactation consultant to come to your home, she helped me a ton today and she really just took the stress away.

6 hours???? HOLY CRAP! You are a rockstar!

I am going to go to a class also on breastfeeding support. I figure the more the better. It's really hard!

Mine slept all the time until about 2 days ago...and now he's up so much during the night! I keep reminding myself that it will get better. I am just so drained!

My mom is coming back this week and I am totally getting a mani/pedi. Escape!

I am sorry i havent responded, i have been so frustrated with my husband... anyways, how are you feeling? I gave up breastfeeding, but I am a pumping mama and that is working for us so that is what we are going to do.

I am so happy dh is going back to work tomorrow... I have a feeling my stress level is going to drop dramatically!

I'm ok...been a little blue on and off, but hanging in there.

I have been pumping also...but my supply sucks. How much do you get in a session and how long do you pump? I'm going to a breast feeding support group tomorrow and then make my decision if I continue...it is just not working out.

What's your husband doing? Tell him to zip it! We are hormonal here!

He is just unhelpful and then when he tries to be helpful he pisses me off. I think and hoping it is just my hormones. jaxon is a night owl too and it is kicking my butt, I am a morning person!

I am getting 1-2 ozs every few hours... like 6 hours or so... but I am also supplementing with formula. we just got back from the doc and he is back at his birth weight and all signs of jaundice is gone, so I think we are doing good.

is there anything I can do tohelp with the blues? your mom is coming back in town this week right? Hopfeully that will help!!

You are sweet! I am doing ok. Just SO frustrated with nursing!!! Went to a support group for breastfeeding today and it helped, but then I get home and he will not latch. My milk has come up, I'm pumping like a fool, but I just want to be able to feed him without being attached to the **** machine! My husband keeps telling me to give up, it's not worth it. I know this is true, but I am just so determined to try for a while longer. I feel like a failure you know?

Anyway enough about my woes. How are you? How did today go? My mom is here this week and while she is helpful...she drives me NUTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Isnt that a mom's job? hehehe

honestly girl... a happy mom means a happy baby (I think you told me that once). i understand wanting to nurse but I had the same problem, he just wont latch and I felt like i was a bad mom, but in reality your not a bad mom and he isnt going to remember any of this anyways... as long as he is loved that is all that matters...

Have you tried maybe reading or doing something while pumping? that helps me, i just read and the time flies.

Do you have the hands free? I just bought the ugly *** boustier yesterday and I think that will help.

I'm going to try a bit longer as his lower jaw develops and then after a month make a final decision.

How is sleeping for you? Do you feel like you get enough?

So cute!!! I am so bad at that kind of stuff!

no, I dont have a hands free, just a madela swing. It works for me though.

The mosquitos here are kickiing my butt!

sleep is okay. He sleeps so much in the morning and afternoon when I am wide awake and wants to be up all night... so it is a little hard, but I am getting about 6 hours I would say.. it is manageable. How about you?

Oh I didn't make it...the siggy section of the site did for me! Haha.

Mine sleeps the same. I need to start sleeping more in the day but I just hate to! So I definitely don't get enough, maybe 4 hours? I keep telling myself it will get better!

Did you ever try the nipple shield? I think that's my next step. I am just not getting enough pumping. How many oz does your boy eat in a sitting?

he is a cubbster! He usually eats about 2 oz. i did try the breast shield and that worked really well, but I left it at the hospital. the lactation person there was such a b----- and was like, you dont want to always use it... and he was latching at the hospital.. it wasnt until we got home that we started having major issues.

right now Jaxon gets two bottles of breast milk a day and about 4-6 of formula. I am now only getting about 3 oz each time I pump (twice a day)... but i figure a little is better than none.

i think you should totally try the breast shield. it may make it so much better!!

oh and I think you jinxed me... the baby was up every two hours last night. I am so tired today! I didnt get any cleaning done and Dh is all complaining... i swear i am going to kick his butt if he says he is tired one more time!

Oh but they did tell me to if I am going to pump then to heat up a towel and place it over my boobs and kinda massage them before and more milk will come out... (if you havent tried that, it might help).

Lately Ryan has wanted like 3oz per feeding!!! I feel like he's going to be a big chub.

Yeah Ryan's been doing breast milk during the day and then i do formula at night. NOT that it makes him sleep better!!!

Ok ordered breast shield...my last try.

Interesting! I have not heard that. I'm going to try. I only get about 2oz per pump. Annoying!!!

If I ever do this again...BABY NURSE!
