Here I am still pregnant...still dilated to 5...still trying all that I can to get this kid out, everyone around me is now either having their baby or at least contracting.
I cleaned my entire house today, even cleaned the carpets, scrubbed the shower, scrubbed kitchen and bathroom floors on my hands and knees.....cleaned out cabinets, closets....and believe me none of this is nesting....it was done against my will to get this kid out, I did not have the desire to clean I had the desire to go into labor, and all this for what???? Not a single contraction.
I ate meatballs with extra oregano and basil because someone said that stuff would put me into labor, I bought a whole pineapple which was hell to find....havent ate it yet because the thing is sooooo not ripe.
I am still at this moment lugging laundry back and forth from my laundry room, I am acting like Im not tired but I am.....but cant let the baby know that.
I want to scream....I even took my car to the car wash and in a while im gonna lug out my hospital bag and the car seat in anticipation that all this will work in my favor tonight.
How can I be dilated to 5 for sooo long?????
I am happy for all the girls having their babies but OMG I want mine here now.

How about a hot bath?? that way you can relax and there's a chance it will break your water

I have been taking hot baths every day a couple times a day.....I am going to take one tonight after all my laundry is done....I have 4 loads left......I have a bit more cleaning to do tomorrow, if im not in labor by then.....I am gonna go do laps at the biggest mall around.
I am going out of my mind since I have NO contractions at all now, not even a BH and this kid seems to have set up permanent camp in there.
Shannon, I'm so sorry you still aren't contracting after ALL of that activity today. I hope your LO kicks into gear and gets you on the road to delivery ASAP. Sending delivery vibes your way.
Shannon - you and I are so on the same page. I feel like I could kick my cat or something. I've used up all of my patience with complete idiots this whole pregnancy and there is no more left at this point. I hate answering my phone now b/c NO I'M NOT IN LABOR AND NO THERE ARE NO SIGNS OF IT COMING ON ANYTIME SOON SO LEAVE ME THE (YOU KNOW WHAT) ALONE! I'm sick of people looking so horrified at how huge I am, and I just want to slap them! I had to tell a woman at my chiropractor's office tonight to just be quiet - I felt so proud of myself for not saying shut up! Why are people so stupid. There needs to be some kind of support group for moms that go past their due dates.
Poor thing, you seem to be doing everything in the book. I am rooting for you to have your baby soon, it must be agony. If it makes you feel better, I did the same thing today - laundry, sweep and mop floors, exercise, walk, eat pineapple, etc....I am running out of options that I am willing to try. Hang in there, I am still pregnant here but much less dilated than you.
Per your EDD you still have 2 weeks to go, no? Maybe your cervix is ready, but baby and uterus are not. I've heard women can be dilated for a long time before labor kicks in or not at all until labor starts. Guess that really is true!
I have no idea if I'm dilated or not, but I'm anxious for some/any signs that things are at least progressing and I have none I feel your pain.
Sending lots of labor vibes your way Shannon. You sound like you are in misery, and I know it has to be frustrating to be so dilated and nothing still. I would try walking around the mall today, and try to not be anxious about going into labor. I read that being anxious about labor can actually stall it.
yeah I read that being super anxious about labor can stall it too. I've been trying to not think about it in hope that the minute I stop obsessing over it I'll start having contractions that are actually getting me some where. I think your doctor needs to get on this and see what's really going on up in there. they can go ahead and break your water can't they? I mean goodness how much longer do they want you to go through this? it's ridiculous and I don't blame you for being frustrated. I've been scrubbing floors and moving furniture in hopes maybe labor will start. My friend took my grocery shopping and I tried to sneak and carry all the bags with juice and milk but she caught me. come on!!!

It's frustrating enough to have no progress but I can't imagine how much more frustrating it would be to walk around dilated at 5 for weeks. I am sure it has given you false hope of going into labor every single day since you found out. As hard as it is, try to take a deep breath and relax...your body knows when you are stressed (even if you try to pretend you are not). I will pray for you and your baby, that he will come soon and you will have a great birth experience!
It's true im not due till the 14th but was told for doctors soo long that this baby was going to be here well before now. I am miserable walking around this dilated, the doctor will not break my water until im 39 weeks without doing an amnio first so, thats why I am trying to do everything in my power to start my own labor. It is getting harder and harder to do stuff each day, I feel like I am wetting my pants, I waddle enough that people are starting to call me that, I cant stand waiting any longer, I am now starting to hope that on friday when I go in to get my membranes stripped that it just breaks my water...since they said that since I am already dilated to 5 it should not really even be called stripping membranes...not much left to strip there I guess. I am off to attempt more stuff today to induce my own labor.....tomorrow is the babys dads b day and hes hoping they can share it, I told him fat chance this kids camped out and I wouldnt be surprised if we start seeing smoke coming from my vagina when he starts his little campfire in there.
bahahaha smoke from your vagina. classic. I'm not dilated to no 5cm but I'm feeling you on the camped out thing. I have no symptoms besides the dumb BH that don't get me anywhere and I'm starting to get very antsy. getting dressed is a chore because everything hurts so bad, standing up for longer than 5min is impossible because of all the weight. I'm over it! I really hope that walking does you in and that dang water breaks. We don't need you getting to the point of breaking it yourself.

Still sending you labor vibes, and I still REALLY cannot believe you are still pregnant!!!!!!!!!!!! After all the early labor scares i had a few weeks ago, I think I am heading in the same direction...I have felt NOTHING since reaching full term, and have a feeling at this point she is like "You don't want me out? FINE. Not moving." At least I have the induction scheduled for the 16th.....never tought I would, but I am actually thinking it IS going to come to that!

I suggested DTD but if your BF doesn't want to participate maybe you can handle it yourself... that will at least help you release oxytocin... You only need DH for the but that's to help the cervix thin. Oxytocin helps labor progress supposedly.... and in the hospital they give you the synthetic form- pitocin!!!

you should totally tell your lil man that you don't want him to come and plan some kind of day to relax or go out for yourself! It's worth a shot

It's really starting to get to me....I find myself having a pregnancy melt down crying over it...and nobody is home to care, I called my doula asked her for advise...all she said was I can try the cohosh, I seriously know I sound like a crazy person right now but come on.....I was supposed to have this kid 8 weeks ago and now the doctor wont do as much to help me as break my **** water!!!! I thought full term is full term...why should I wait till next monday to be 39 weeks to have him break it.....he will strip my membranes before 39 weeks but not just break my water?????
Im ready to just go lay in bed and not get out of bed till contractions start or my water breaks....but the way things are going im gonna be covered in bed sores by that time.
i feel you pain. but i have got to say you have a much better sense of humor than me. i have been on the same mission as you doing every trick in the book to get this baby out (which is funny because i was in labor like 2 months ago and they stopped it, now it wont get started) have you tried accupressure? there is a book that you can buy for 30$ that tells you how to do it at home but there are also people that will do it for you...

My doula sent me an 11 page email on the accupressure....I tried some of it but I am beginning to think nothing is going to work, with my first son my water broke but no contractions although I had BH weeks before, I swear there is something wrong with my body.....they tell me be ready for a preemie at 30 weeks and now we cant get him to come out, I was even admitted to the hospital at 22 weeks for pre term labor....WTH???
