How come you can never see the umbilical cord in 2d US pics but I can see it in a lot of my 3D pics? During my 3D today he had the cord up getting in the way of his face a good amount of the time. She said that it was totally normal for it to be floating around up there, and she made a point to say it was in front of his head, no big deal, but said it because so many people get nervous when they see it up there. I know she was trying to make me feel relaxed and not worried about a cord accident, but somehow I think she actually made me nervous about it. Now hours later I am sitting here wondering if it is still up there floating around near his head. Ugh!!

My worst fear is going for a 3d U/S and seeing the cord around her neck. I'm constantly afraid of a cord accident. I can't wait until she is here and I can see that she is safe....

I'm always thinking about cord accidents, too. But I can actually see the cord in our DVD several times, and each time is in 2D. The cord is floating around beside him. I couldn't see it in 3D since she mostly just focused on his face. But I was glad to see that it wasn't around his neck!

I know! I am so freaked out by the fact that is was in front of his face for a good amount of time during scan. I know there is absolutely nothing I can do to change this but still...I feel so upset by it.

The 2d ultrasounds just mostly show bones/cartlidge..the umbilical cord is just blood vessels ect so it wont show up on 2d. I think that is right anyways lol

Yep, my worst fear right now is a cord accident. I just CANNOT relax in this pregnancy, if it wasn't LOSING the baby from my cervix, now she can live outside the womb but I have this super fear of a cord accident.. When she is out I will be so relieved. Until she sleeps at night and I continue to make sure she's still breathing LOL

In each 2D ultrasound that I've had with Logan, I've seen his cord. It looked like white bubbles. In the 3D ultrasound, we saw him playing with it and cuddling it. I'm not sure why, but a cord accident is one thing that I'm actually not worried about.
