Has anyone used a swaddler?? I've been tempted to buy one but I don't know how well they worked. My 1st would break out of his blanket swaddle the minute I laid him down and it would wake him up.. so I was thinking a swaddler would work better because it velcros shut.
My SIL just had a baby last week and I was talking to her on the phone a couple of days ago and she was RAVING about the ones she got. She said they are so easy to use and keep the baby tucked in so tight, much better than she could do on her own with a blanket. She has the summer infant swaddle me ones by kiddopotomas (not sure of my spelling there) and said the fleece ones are the best because the sizing doesn't matter. You can velcro them anywhere so no matter how big or small baby is you can get a tight fit. They do come in S and L though. I have them on my registry and I think they are buy one get one 1/2 off right now and they also come in cotton. Here is a pic.
Thank you MeganPixel for surprising me with this super cute siggy-you rock!
I put one on my registry, but with DS I used recieving blankets.. I swaddled him TIGHT, and he didn't start breaking out of them until he was quite a bit older.. I do however, still want to try it.. It'll be easier probably for husband to use
We use the Swaddle Me blankets and the Kiddopotomas
I think those are the ones we used, too. We swaddled Jack for quite a while and would have gone longer if he wasn't busting out of it. Then we switched to the kiddopotomas sleep sacks, which are great when you still aren't comfortable using blankets with them.
Def good to have multiple swaddlers - I remember some nights he would pee through his diaper and the swaddler would be damp, so it is nice to have immediate back up. Anything that makes being awake in the middle of the night easier is KEY as far as I'm concerned!
We used regular receiving blankets to swaddle and the SwaddleMe swaddlers sometimes as well. And then we transitioned to sleepsacks when she got a little older. Lily stopped wanting to be swaddled at around 2 months, but a lot of babies love it until much later.
