Sorry if this is TMI!

I noticed the other day that whenever I would wipe something just felt different. So I busted out my trusty handheld mirror and boy was I surprised at what I saw! I am swollen down there....no pain whatsoever, but everything just looks noticeably bigger than what it normally is! I know that is kind gross, but what the heck is going on? Please tell me after pregnancy this will go away!!! Anyone else notice this? I almost wish I wouldnt have looked, ignorance can be bliss!

LOL!! You're so funny sometimes!! Its normal! I've been swollen for a long time now, its from the increased blood volume.. thats why they say some women enjoy sex more while pregnant because of increased blood volume=increased sensitivity.. personally for me, it makes me feel tender.. but yes, it definitly goes away!

if you think you're swollen now... wait till after a vaginal birth

But no worries, it does eventually go back to "normal" or some close approximation of normal pending how big your baby is

Oh yeah, I noticed the swelling starting a few weeks ago. Some days the swelling is worse than others. It will go back down after birth.

yes. As if that area isn't already rather unattractive (I mean, bodies are beautiful all over blah blah blah, and all that, but really, I don't think genitalia is attractive on either gender!) the swelling makes it seem even stranger looking.

And yes, wait 'til after birth. Just keep telling yourself "it will get better, it will get better" because it does, but in the moment that is hard to remember. I'm afraid of all of those feelings/fears again even though this is #2.

I haven't looked but I have noticed that it feels different when I wipe. I don't know if I am brave enough to grab a mirror and look!

I am so glad it' not just me! There are so many neat things about being pregnant, I just wish there weren;t so many gross things that came along with it as well!

Seriously-I am so nervous for what I am going to go through after giving birth!
