Since the powere was out for a couple days I guess it messed things up with our water so they are saying boil any drinking water or water used to prepare food. I am super paranoid and feel if I cant drink it...I shouldnt be bathing in it or doing my laundry. But I AM DYING TO TAKE A SHOWER!! Seriously I cannot stand it anymore. What do you guys think? Safe to shower??And do laundry??

I called and they said I can but...I dunno it just freaks me out lol. I've been using baby wipes since yesterday morning and I want to shower soooooooooooooo bad!! I feel disgusting, but I dunno if bathing in water you have to boil before drinking will make me feel dirtier lol. I really thought they would have the water issue fixed by now. Guess I need to count my blessings, I cant imagine being in Haiti.

I think it would bother me too. I am sorry you are in that situation. I can't stand not taking a shower.

A shower is probably fine, just get in an out quick and try not to swallow any.

yeah leave your mouth closed (remember what happened to charlotte in sex and the city when they're in mexico? LOL) and it should be totally fine. or, if you are really paranoid, you could always boil it and throw it in the bathtub and take a bath instead. (just let it cool off first!)

i'd say laundry is 100% fine.

It is fine to take a shower and do laundry during a boil order. Just not ok to consume.

That's exactly what I was going to say---keep your mouth closed as though you were in Mexico or India

yeah a shower should be absolutely fine, with soap, etc.. Even if it is a bit tainted, it cant be any worse than showering in a pond/river type environment.

and yeah, laundry would be 100% safe.

ditto. Keep those lips clamped shut!

I can see myself totally forgetting and opening my mouth. Kind of like when I had to pee before my dr's appt and they said to go ahead, just leave my sample right then, and I was in such a rush that I peed and all of a sudden remembered. The sample that week had about 5 drops... oh well!

So... how was the shower?

You can shower and do laundry just don't get any of it in your mouth.
