Do they do that while your preggo? I'm uncomfortable enough down there right now without having to have that done.

I was due as of last month. Will they do it now or wait for my 6 weeks pp checkup to do it?

They will probably wait until your 6 weeks checkup. I had my PAP at my first prenatal appt.

They didn't do it at your first appointment? Normally they do it then regardless of when you last had it done, then at your 6 week pp appointment, then a year from that.

I had one done during the first trimester, but I'm not sure if they'll do one at this point. You could ask at your next appointment

You can always ask. I am due at the beginning of March, but they already told me they'll do it at my 6 wk pp check up. When I was pregnant with DD I was due for my pap in November, but she was due in Jan. I didn't have my pap until my 6 wk check then either. Neither my old Dr. or my new one seems to do a Pap at the first pre-natal appointment.

They couldn't. My insurance only pays for it once per calender year. I had it done January of 09 and my first prenatal appt was also in 09.

I'd request to either be done during the group b strep or at the 6 week pp since you'll be examined at both anyway. I don't think they like to poke around in there while you're pregnant if they can avoid it.

I had my pap done in July the month that we started TTC. End of July we were pregnant and didn't need to have one done at my first appointment.

They probably won't do it while you are this pregnant. It's common to get abnormal results while pregnant, so they normally wait until you've given birth.

My doctor decided to just wait until after baby was born since i had one in february. I was really glad because like you, my insurance only covers one each year as well.

I would just request they do it at your 6week PP visit, since while you are pregnant it can cause abnormal results.
