Does anyne have a bumbo?
I registered for one and I know of a few people that have used them but is it something that I need? Will the baby really benefit from it?
I guess if it's a good thing to have I will leave it on there, but if I'm not gonna use it that often then I should probably take it off the registry.

We had one but never used it. I know some people who used theirs some, but it's definitely not a necessity.

There also are arguments against it for being bad for babies; I think relating to the fact that it puts their bones in an unnatural position for their age but I'm not sure on the details of it, we just never really had a use for it.

I had one and we used it with DS for a few months. It was great to feed him once we started with solid foods and to keep him contained once he started crawling while I was doing something around the house.

It is a nice to have but not a necessity imo.

We never had one for Max and I doubt we will this time either.

We got one for Kinley when she could hold her head up.....she LOVED watching what everyone was doing, so it freed my hands up to fold laundry (I would just stick her in it on the floor by me) or do whatever I needed to do and she was content to sit and watch. We also used it to feed her when she first started eating solids-she couldn't sit up by herself, so she couldn't sit in the high chair and it was easier to sit her in the Bumbo than have someone hold her and feed her. This way both DH and I could watch her eat (or one could feed and one could film) without having to hold her. We bought the little tray to go with it and she would play with toys on it while I was doing something in the floor.

It def wasn't a necessity, but she liked it enough to make it worth it--so we will be using it for Karsyn as well.

This is exactly how it worked for us too. It's a great transition seat once they can sit up somewhat by themselves and are starting to eat solids but are still to little for a full blown high chair.

We used it a handful of times. Lily hated it. If someone buys it for you, then great. Otherwise I wouldn't waste your own money on it.

I didn't use one with DD, it wasn't out yet. But I bought a used one this time. $15 dollars. So if the baby doesn't like it...oh well. But I wanted to try it.

We LOVED our bumbos, and so did our boys. It was a huge help once they are about 3-4 months old( more around 4) I used to take it with to places like the in-laws and such and it was such a great portable highchair for when they are little little. I would say once they get bigger and crawl a lot, they will get out of it, but we used ours for a good 6 months that it was great. Some people who's children have neck problems or head unevenness have used these under DR orders too. I will buy one again for sure

I just got one at my last shower. All of my friends and coworkers who have had babies recently have raved about theirs and told me how I have to have one! They said the same thing about using it for feeding before they can use their highchair. But obviously as others have said, it is not a necessity and some didn't even like it all that much. I say get a used one and get the play tray!

I got one for my second ds after a couple of people had raved about how great the bumbo was.... personally I don't think it's worth the money. My ds didn't like it much at all and he had his rocker so I tended then to think that when he could sit up on his own was good enough for he and I . I still have it so will see if I use it this time but would I buy one based on what I know now? No, definitely not a necessity IMO...

I got a blue one and a pink one when my twins were born. They both love it and got quite a bit of use out of it. Then Sydney used it somewhat but didn't really love it and then Kambree flat out hated it. Plus, she learned to arch her back and come out of it earlier than the others, so I guess it depends on the baby.
I would classify it as one of those things that may be nice to have (if baby likes) but not a necessity.
