Is anyone else feeling craftsy? I am so in the mood to make something for the baby, but I don't know how to sew or knit. I was walking around Michaels last night and saw some cute things I could probably make. Just wondering if it's me

I definitely am, though it always comes and goes... I taught myself to needle felt about a year ago so I could make DD things, taught myself to crochet since I found out I was pregnant to make them both things, I don't sew but yesterday I got out my mom's old sewing machine and made a blanket, pillow covers, and taggie blanket. I'm also planning on some embellished onesies, hair bows, hair bow holders, covered my diaper pail with cute fabric, and I have some canvas 8x10's I'll be painting to hang on her wall too. I hand cut and sewed the cutest little birds to hold the letters of her name, planning another similar idea with a branch. Embellished letters for the wall... guess you can say I have the crafting bug big time LOL

Stephanie..you should definitely try a Knifty Knitter. I can't knit either but it is sooo easy to do with a KK. I have made him a hat and booties and am starting to work on my first blanket.

I love being crafty! I know how to sew fairly well (well, enough to do some easy patterns for clothes and curtains). I've made one cloth diaper so far, but I need to tweak the pattern a little before I sew any more. I'm also planning on sewing up some cloth wipes with my extra fabric. I need to get out to look for fabric and trim for the nursery curtains and dust ruffle. I taught myself how to crochet years ago, but I haven't done anything for Lily or this baby. I also need to paint some letters for the nursery.

You are not the only one. I have been making things, but just too lazy to post about them. I have also been busy making baby gifts for my cousin who is now due anyday. In fact, I filled up a gift box with a knitted blanket and matching hat, knitted washcloth, burp cloths, washcloths and a cross stitched bib. I am trying to make my little guy some.

Totally, I am more artsy than crafty though. I just started water coloring each letter of the alphabet with little illustrations of animals to go with the letter for the nursery. I wish I could knit and/or sew. There are so many cute things I'd love to make. I could probably learn but I doubt I'd have the patience to actually make something. I tried to crochet a blanket once and gave up when it was barely the size of a scarf.

So far I've painted Kaija's room and painted her name letters and a few other things, but nothing exciting. I am going to Hancock Fabrics tomorrow to take advantage of their President's Day sale and get what I need to make the crib bedding.

I love making items for our baby! I've already made my diaper bag, blanket, initials to hang, painted and framed two bambi deer to match bedding. I love all types of crafts but I'm at a stand still and looking for ideas! I've been working on my scrapbook of my trimesters but nothing else.
