Has anyone every used a baby sling? It just looks like the baby is squished in there, I would like to use one but not sure if it is safe or not.

Not all slings and wraps are made equal - but the good ones are extremely safe and beneficial for baby and momma. Look into NINO (Nine in Nine out), its a group who's philosophy is babies should be treated like they are in the womb for at least 9 months after they are born, this philosophy is based off Anthropologists and their findings on the human race compared to other species. Wearing your baby in an appropriate wrap or sling as often as possible is one way to achieve this. It also promotes bonding between mom and babe and helps breastfeeding.

There has been A LOT of talk about this lately. You may want to do a board search, there have been quite a few questions on this same subject.

Slings are great. You baby actually likes being a scrunched up. That is also why they like being swaddled.

I was looking at the Moby wrap, it looks cozy and it looks like the baby would like being all wrapped up close to mama.

Hi I'm lurking from May, apparently the Infantino Sling has caused infant deaths but other slings are fine.

Consumer Reports on Safety: Baby deaths raise concerns about Infantino slings

I'm getting an Adjustable All-Season Pouch from Kangaroo Korner.

I was going to make myself a baby sling as a fun project when I finished work... but I had read that same article about the infantino slings that Rebecca linked to... and now I'm not game. I guess I will stick with the baby bjorn I used for my boys.

You might want to research Baby Bjorn. It has just as many warnings for causing hip and back issuses.
