So this week, two of my friends have had their babies. One was 11 days early (first baby) and the other was 17 days early (6th baby). Seeing the pictures and hearing about how happy they are has made me SO much more anxious to meet Riley Grace!! I really hope these next 7 weeks or so fly by!

That said, when I think that I'll be considered "full term" in just 4 weeks, it really doesn't seem like long at all! I hope I'm lucky like these girls to be early rather than late.

Also, lately it seems like I've heard about a ton of babies being born a week or two early, even first babies. I'd always heard that first babies had a tendency to be late. I'm sure we've been through this before, but were you BTDT mommies early, late or right on time with your first?

I am no help. I was induced a week early with my first because of the GD.

I was 3 days (or 10 if you go by LMP) past my due date with Max.

Some babies just come naturally early, but I think often times they are born early because of some sort of complication, like stress, high blood pressure, GD, family history etc. Not to mention that some times the due date isn't correct to begin with.

I had to be induced at 41 weeks with my first. A good friend of mine was also induced a few months ago at 41 weeks with her first

LOL... well there goes my theory I guess it was just wishful thinking. My friend who delivered 11 days early didn't have any problems... but I do remember that she wasn't 100% of her LMP... so maybe her DD was a little bit off. The lady who delivered 17 days early did have GD. They did an unplanned (but non-emergency) C-section, and I'm sure that contributed to the doctor's decision.

Right on my due date with #1 and induced one week early with #2...doesn't mean it can't happen early though. I'm hoping it will a little this time too.

My first was a preemie at 35 weeks due to a placental abruption. My babies come early because of my EDS.

I was induced at 37 weeks with DD due to pre-eclampsia. So far no signs of high blood pressure or pre-eclampsia with this one so I'm wondering myself how long I'll go. I was really expecting a mid-March baby, but who knows.

I've been looking for data on this, too. On average, first timers do go "late" (though there's not really any such thing as "late"). However, I work in a stressful environment, and our first timers tend to go earlier (3 weeks early, 2 weeks early, on due date, 1 month early, 5 weeks early, and so forth). Very odd.

Kinley was 9 days late.....I had her on a Sunday--if she wasn't born by the following Wed, I was going to be induced...but I went into labor naturally (then ended up in a csection).

I was early for my first, but I had PROM. Then early again with my second. I want to make it to my EDD this time. But I'm guessing about 10 days early!

induced at 41wks, my labor was starting on its own but my contractions were sporadic and I wasn't progressing so they broke my water and gave me pitocin to get it moving... I was also in the beginning of pre-eclampsia and in truth should have been induced at least a week sooner due to blood pressure going up, swelling, and her size (9lbs 13oz).

Kaija was 8 days early. Though my labor stopped in the night while we were at the hospital and we opted to stay since I was hooked to the IV already and we'd been admitted and everything. So I was induced in the morning. She was fine except for some jaundice that would have likely been a problem anyway due to a blood type difference.

1st timers do usually go "late", but I have also noticed that lately it seems like everyone is going early. LOL

I was 2 days late with my first. I was 19 and not positive on my dates, so I can't say how accurate my due date was.

I'm excited that your friend went early with her 6th, gives me some hope! LOL
