I was wondering when you ladies are planning on washing baby's clothes, etc. I'm thinking about getting started, but I also think that putting it on my calendar to do in a couple weeks might make time go by faster (I'm weird, I know). I have one shower on Feb. 20 and then another on March 13. Perhaps I should do a round after the first shower and then another after the second. I'd like to have everything done by 37 weeks.

What are your plans?

I've washed everything I had saved from DD up through like 6-9 months already, I also washed all new things 0-3 months. All blankets are washed and sheets too. I'll wash any additional things I get at my small shower right after since I'm having it at 35wks and I wanted everything ready that first weekend in March.

I hadn't really thought too much about this. I haven't bought the baby detergent yet, hoping someone will get it for me at my shower, but we will see. I will probably wash everything-clothes, sheets, etc, after my last shower on February 27th. That way I am done by 36 weeks incase littl guy wants to make an early appearance!

As soon as I finish painting the nursery and move the furniture back in I'll start washing.

As soon as hubbie puts the dresser together I plan to wash the little bit of clothes I've gotten so far. I should get a lot of stuff from my baby shower/family early next month and then I'll wash that and toss it in the dresser too.

No reason not to get it done early. That's one of those simple things you can do anytime and feel like you're making some progress.

The only things that I wash are clothes that I buy used from ebay or one of my clothing forums. Things that are new will just get the tags cut off as we use them. If he doesn't wind up wearing things due to me guessing his size wrong or buying ahead I will get more money selling them with the tags still on then not.

After my shower next weekend I plan to start washing clothes. I'll hopefully have everything I need by then. If anything I'll have to buy a few more items, but that won't take long. I want to be done with everything by the first weekend in March. That's the plan, at least.

I've started washing what we have from Kaija. Most is done, just needs to be hung up. Stains developed in the 2 years I've been storing them!

I'm only washing used items as well. In the event that she's bigger than expected, I want to be able to take things back.

Im not washing things until the very beginning of april. I also just realized that I threw away all of my freakin reciepts, so I cant take anything back even if I wanted to. I was nesting really badly at one point and I just couldnt handle all of the paper even with it being out of sight.

Any used clothes I will wash when I get the nursery all set up. New stuff I will wait on. I want to be able to return things or sell them. Also there are 4 other girls we're friends with that are pregnant so if any other them are having a girl I'll just use the stuff as gifts for their showers. Hopefully I don't give them anything they gave me hehe

DH just put the dresser together today so I am going to start washing this week. We have SO much to do around our house (we are finishing our basement) that I need to get as much as possible out of the way.

What about those soft fleece baby blankets? Do they get ruined in the wash? I mean, do they not look as smooth after washing? Any washing tips?
