we noticed there was water on on closet floor in the closet - so we let the landlord know and she called a plumber. he comes over this am and starts tearing into stuff - well he thinks a pipe broke under the cement foundation. so after 4 holes in our closet wall, tearing up the carpet and padding and a hole in the foundation on the outside he still cannot figure out exactly where it is coming from. Now we have to have specialists come out tomorrow am and start tearing out the concrete floor in our bedroom closet and see if they can tell where the pipe is leaking - that is going to be such a mess. Houses are a pain - lol. after the hail storm we had last fall they had to redo the entire roof. We already had to replace the garbage disposal also. At least right now while we are renting it is at the owners expense. they are thinking of selling the house and DH kind of wants to buy it. IDK if I do or not. I like the area and for the most part the house is decent except it was built in the 1970's and some things were never upgraded past the 70's. The biggest thing is I dont speak spanish and therefore cant find a decent job. Most of the jobs arounf here only pay like $13 and hour - well by the time we paid daycare, switched from cloth to disposable daipers, gas to and from work, lunches for work, formula (if i wasnt able to pump at work), work clothes, and taxes they would take out my pay I wouldnt be bringing any money home - so I told DH if I am not going to have any money left out of my pay after all that then I am not going to pay for someone else to raise my daughter - kwim? I need to find a good work from home job - I dont think there is such a thing though. Plus I dont spoeak spanish and all the jobs around here require you to speak spanish (although do not require you to speak english and be able to pass a spanish proficiency test) and I am not going to learn spanish to work in the USA.
That sounds so frustrating. I'd be ready to give up and hightail it outta there, lol. I completely agree on the not working thing if it doesn't pay off. Some women might like it because they just need to be working, but I'd much rather stay home with my babies! There really should be more SAH job options in the world!

Ok, first, AMEN to your last statement!!!
I am sorry you are in a tough spot. I hate that most jobs require you to be bilingual, they should learn the American language (but thats a WHOLE other story). If the house has had that many problems I am not sure I would buy it. It can get quite costly to repair and update things. We have a newer house (3 years old...we bought brand new) and we just had a leak from our shower drain. Thankfully, DH could fix it, but still. There will always be something going on with the house or yard. You still have time to figure everything out, so don't sweat about it too much right now.
