Zachary is eating right now... he's going on 4 oz!! He's only 13 days old! He slept for 4.25 hours and normally he wakes up every 2.5-3 hrs so maybe that's why. DH gave him a bottle with 3 oz of BM and he polished it off and then cried for more. We gave him another bottle and DH stopped after half an ounce and was like... no way... NO way can you need more. About 5 min later he started making his frantic hungry faces again! We offered his soothie and he spit it out.

Whew, he's finally done. He had about 4 ounces. I'm really glad we asked the pedi at the last appointment if we could be overfeeding him. His response was "you'll know you've overfed him when he projectile vomits."

I know what you mean. My docs tell me to feed him until that happens if he wants to eat.....better more than less. James eats 4 oz too. The nurses in the NICU were totally amazed that a 7 day old was chowing down so much....now Im breastfeeding THEN he still eats about 2 oz on top of that from a bottle cause we are still supplementing. If im tired and I just give him a bottle then he will eat 4oz. Who knows how much he eats when he is breastfeeding and supplementing. A lot im sure. And he does spit some of it up.
At night the boy just eats and eats and eats. Last night he ate for 4 hours straight cluster feeding. It was NUTS!
