I'll go count lol.

5 covers, 30 diapers and 30 inserts. I got them for free a friend is lending them to me to decide whether or not I want to carry on with cloth diapers. If I do decide to then I'm going to get the Bum Genius O/S pockets a store near my house sells them for a bundle price of 24 diapers and 48 inserts for 500 dollars.

ETA - I hope you don't mind but I'm also curious to which kind of diapers people are using like pocket, all in one, prefolds?

500 is kind of high for those, you can find them online for under 400 if you use a coupon code. And we love our BG OS diapers, it's pretty much all we use now!

I dont' know if living in Canada makes a difference but A lot of online sites won't ship them to Canada and at about 20/diaper it's the cheapest that I've found.

This site I just ordered our new ones from last month says they ship to Canada, I don't know if it's a lot extra or not but may be worth checking out.

Sabrina, you are in Edmonton right? Another option I've found is 36 AIO one-size diapers for $12.95 each in Camrose
Baby Love Fitted All-in-One w/Breathable Cover 36 Diaper Layette by:

That is probably what I am going to do, and use the disposable/biodegradable liners rather than the inserts.

We're still working on our stash, but we plan to have 3 dozen small prefolds and 6 small thirsties covers.

I found a great sale on GMD cloth-eez prefolds so we're stocked on them (3 dozen small, 2 dozen medium and 2 dozen large). We just need to work on the covers.

OH we do have 7 XS, 4 S and 2 L thirsties AIO pockets.

It sounds like a lot when I type it out! That's exciting.

Sabrina have you checked out Parenting by Nature? They often have sales... they're in Ontario. Or New and Green in Vancouver. Both sell through their websites.

To answer the OP:

8 size small FBs (old style with the triangle corners)
8 Kushies and one cover (don't love 'em but they're good back-up)
12 medium FBs (newer style but not the one-size)
15 large (older style with triangle corners)

I'm probably going to go with gDiapers. I haven't decided. I am not doing the cloth when baby first gets home so I have a while to decide. I'm still extremely overwhelmed by cloth and don't understand all of the abbreviations that people use so I better start researching soon.

Lol that's how I felt. "Prefolds," "Inserts," "Covers," "AIO," "Liners," etc. What the heck?? But I did some reading and I think I got it now.

I was the opposite! I didn't even think about doing cloth didn't cross my mind until I went into a store and a woman was explaining them to me and I thought boy this is a lot simpler then it seems! Once you can see the diapers and it's easy to see the different between the types. The only thing that kind of put me off was the cost because they're so expensive to begin with but not so much if you think of what we would be spending in diapers.
