Today was the day of my 16 week appointment, and overall it was pretty good...though the Doctor almost ended up being choked by an angry pregnant woman (slight exaggeration).

Heard the heartbeat pretty easily this time (135), scheduled AFP test in 2 weeks, and then the big 20 week ultrasound on April 28th.

My only concern that I spoke to my doctor about was my ongoing naseua. About 2 months ago, I called the nurse and explained to her my daily throwing up and she prescribed something (Terrible, but I can't remember the name or find the bottle...and just remember it started with "P") but it didn't work because it basically knocked me out, even when I took only half a pill. Well, my doctor's answer...

"Unfortunately, sometimes this just happens...I was sick all nine months with both my pregnancies".

Now, I'm not trying to be a wuss, really I'm not...but daily throwing up for four months is starting to get to me. I'm still gaining weight as normal, but the constant sick stomach is just making me less than a joy to be around (and side-note, I'm beginning to be a little paranoid that I might smell of throw up...just kidding).

All in all though, it was a decent appointment otherwise, so a good day.

I'm still throwing up almost every day too so I understand where you are coming from. It definitely isn't any fun that's for sure. I don't like the idea of taking any meds during pregnancy but that is just a personal choice and if you think it would help you I would ask your doctor about getting a different type of medication. I know there are several different ones so maybe you just didn't try the right one for you.

My big u/s is on april 28th too!

Sounds like the actual appointment went well, but the empathy was definitely lacking! Can you talk to a pharmacist in your area to see what meds are available for m/s, and then talk to your doc again about those meds to see if you can try one?

I hope the m/s softens (completely disappears!) for you and you can enjoy this wonderful pregnancy.

Was it phenagren? I know I can't take it either, it actually makes me throw up more.
When I called to have my zofran refilled the nurse was telling me to take some over the counter stuff for sea sickness..

Emetrol or dramamine, I have yet to use these in pregnancy but you might give them a shot.

Probably phenergan, it will knock you out, have you asked about zofran? Life saver here! Glad everything else went good!

SO sorry you're still dealing with MS. And I wish your doctor would have been more understanding Can you call back and ask about zofran? I know it's helped a lot of other girls here.

And on a positive note... you get your ultrasound on the 28th!!! YAY!!!
