I never got around to posting it so here it is. I went to the peri on thursday april 22 - she was doing an ultrasound and of a sudden she says "this is not good" - not exactly what you want to hear at an ultrasound. so then she tells me that the baby is having periods of absent flow through her cord and I have to go straight to the hospital (across the street) becasue it is better to deliver the baby today. she told me I did have the option of not delivering that day and staying in the hospital until the baby was born but the next thing that would happen is reversed blood flow and at that point there is a good chance the baby would die before they got her out. so i def agreed with delivering her that day. I asked if i could go home and wait for Dh to get home and then go to the hospital (it would take about an hour for him to get home) she said no. so I called Dh and went to L&D - about 11am. they got me checked in and hooked up to the mointors, called the dr that would be delivering and everything. dh gets there around 1:00. they said the dr would be there to do the c-section around 4 after his clinc hours. well dr got there about 5:30. The anesthesiologist came in and talked to me about the spinal they were going to do for the c-section. I told him I was nervous about the spinal becasue I had a spinal tap a few years ago and the way my nerves run when they were trying to get the needle in it was making my leg and hip hurt - he goes on to tell me this is impossible and the guy doing the spinal tap did something wrong. then the nurse trys to start an IV - i told her she would not get it where she was trying. so she trys anyways and cant get it. she calls the anesthesiologist back in to see if her can get it. i tell them both the only place they will get it is in my right arm up by my elbow. well a half hour, 3 tries in different places and a blown vein later they try where I tell them and it get the first try. then they take me down to the OR. A different anesthiologist is in there. her pokes my back to numb it and I said it hurt - he is like what hurts i said my hip. so he askes if my back hurts - while poiking it with the needle - i tel him no my hip hurts when he does that. so he moves the needle i tell him i still feel it in my hip so he moves it again and that time i dont feel it anywhere - he was like I am glad you told me it was hurting your hip - he said I have a devience in my back where my nerves run that causes that and they dont see it very often. No crap I already told the other guy about it he didnt believe me. while they were putting the spinal in my blood pressure went way up - like 170/120. then i started going numb and laid on the table. he tiltled me back a little to make me numb all the way into my chest. I told him it was hard to breathe - she said that is good as long as I could still talk. then I started getting dizzy and my blood pressure dropped way down - i dont remember what it dropped to but they had to give me meds in the IV to bring it back up. Dh came in and sat down, and then he asked me "doesnt that hurt" i said doesnt waht hurt - he was like the dr is pinching the crap out of your skin with tweezers - i said I dont even feel it - so then they start. right as they start I started crying for a min and dh was like dont cry they are cutting you. then i was ok until dh said there she is and I heard natalie cry - then i started crying again. I asked if she was little and dh and the anesthesiologist both said yes, i asked if she had hair and they both said yes. then i asked if the placenta was out and dh said he didnt know but there ws something they had taken out and laid on my stomach - no one else said anything. then dh and natalie left to go to the nicu and they started sewing me up - i laid there and took a nap while they did that and then they took me to recovery. after being in recovery about an hour I started puking (form the anesthesia) and then every time they made me move or moved me (until about 2 the next afternoon) I puked. they kept giving me nausea meds when they could but they did not helo any at all. around midnignt they took me to my room and stopped by the NICU (with me on the stretcher still) so I could see the baby - couldnt really see her that good though. oh and once they started pushing to get he baby out DH holds up the camera and starts taking pics - here is what he got (he had no idea if he would even get anything becasue he wasnt looking through he lens).
